Building Services Director, Craig Mole, reviewed the Building Service Department budget. This included the revenue summary, fund balance, permit projections, expenses, and Capital Improvement Plan. Molé also addressed staffing, inspections, and the use of drones.

Planning Director, Erica Martin, reviewed the Planning Department budget which included an overview, operating expenses, personnel services, and a 2021 versus 2022 comparison of permits and petitions. City Manager Boodheshwar noted the potential to develop a policy that would shift the responsibility of the required mailed notices from the staff to the petitioner. For future consideration, Council Member Christman suggested hiring an urban design professional and a planner who could focus on comprehensive planning issues, transportation, and land use.

*CBIA will be monitoring any proposed updates in these departments.
*Building Official, Craig Mole, has resigned as of November 4, 2022.
