Construction At The East Campus

Lots of facility work is taking place to prepare for the 2024-25 school year! Two of the more visible projects are taking place on the district's east campus.


Site work has been taking place for the new Heavy Equipment Operator program. The project includes grading, a driveway, a building pad, drainage, and erection of a 40-foot by 60-foot steel building. The new program will provide high school juniors and seniors the opportunity learn to operate heavy equipment.


Work is also taking place at the East Middle School stadium, pictured below. The project includes repair to the irrigation system, additional ground work, and the installation of lights and poles.


These projects are in addition to the annual deep cleaning, maintenance, painting, floor waxing, concrete and asphalt work, and surveillance camera upgrades throughout the district. Other renovations include remodeling at the LEAD Center for the new HVAC Program, and the remodeling of the calming room at Timber Creek Elementary School.

Meet The New Principals For 2024-2025

The 2024-2025 school year will begin with some new and familiar faces in leadership roles at Ray-Pec Schools.


Skyler Myers is the new Principal for Ray-Pec Academy. Myers comes to Ray-Pec from the Kansas City, Kansas School District, where he has been the Principal at Alfred Fairfax Academy since 2020. Read more


Matt Showman is the new Principal at East Middle School. He comes to Ray-Pec from the Raytown School District, where he has been the Assistant Principal and Activities Director at Raytown Central Middle School since 2017. Read more

Dr. Steve Moore is the new Principal at South Middle School. He has been an Assistant Principal at Lee's Summit North High School for the past two years. Read more


Toni Davis is the new Assistant Principal at South Middle School. Since 2021, she was Principal at Raytown South Middle School. Read more


Jim Brown is the new Assistant Principal and Activities Director at South Middle School. He has been with the district for 21 years as a teacher and administrator. Read more

Meet New Leaders Supporting Our Schools

Dr. Amanda Coleman is the new Director of Special Education. She comes to Ray-Pec from the Raytown School District, where she has been principal at Eastwood Hills Elementary School since 2015. Read more


Kelly Schoolcraft is joining Ray-Pec as an Elementary Administrative Intern. She also comes from the Raytown School District, where she has been an Instructional Coach and Title I Reading Teacher since 2017. Read more


Amanda Barr will move to a new role as Elementary Administrative Intern for 2024-2025. She has been an Elementary Instructional Coach in the Ray-Pec School District for the past three years. Read more


Jennifer Ramirez will move to a new role as Administrative Intern for alternative programs. She will support Ray-Pec Academy and Success Academy. Read more

Online registration coming in Mid-July


Watch for an email from the district in July about registration for the 2024-2025 school year. The message will provide instructions to complete the registration forms and submit proof of residency online.


When you register your student(s) for the 2024-2025 school year, you must provide one document to verify residency. Save a document in late June or early July to be prepared for the July registration process.

Create Account In Focus SIS

To register students for the 2024-2025 school year, you must first create an account in the district's new student information system called Focus. This is necessary, because Tyler SIS, our former system, was discontinued.


You will create the account in Focus and link your student(s) to your account. An email from the district will notify you when you can create your Focus account. The email will include your student’s ID number and PIN.

As we seek ways to improve, the district invites parents and patrons to participate in a survey about Summer School.

Calendar Reminders


  • Thursday, July 4 - No School. Independence Day Holiday.
  • Friday, Aug. 16 - Preview Day for incoming kindergartners, sixth graders, ninth graders, and 10th graders.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 20 - First day of school.
