CAEP Tourism Investment Opportunity Assessment
Tourism, or the visitor economy, is an emerging industry according to Alberta's Recovery Plan and central Alberta has a lot to offer. Recognizing this, CAEP initiated a grant application on behalf of our membership and in partnership with Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Innovation. CAEP received CARES funding through this ministry to execute this project, commissioning an investment opportunity assessment for tourism with the intention of facilitating product development and supporting capital investment in our region.

The assessment found a range of operators between strongly developed and those in the initial stages of growth. It also identified the need for organization, product focus and marketing of tourism.

Agritourism, Lake Tourism, and Indigenous and Mountain Recreation Tourism were identified as strengths within CAEP's region. To learn more, download the Tourism Investment Opportunity Assessment Report and stay tuned for next steps!
Tech Job & Skills Survey
Information and Communications Technology Council, which is a Canadian not-for-profit research organization, is conducting a business survey to identify what tech jobs and skills are in-demand in rural Alberta. This survey follows on a previous study that ICTC did about tech job and skills needs in Alberta more generally. Both studies are conducted with support from the Government of Alberta.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete online and we encourage businesses to participate. Through your participation, CAEP will receive and be able to share insights related to the tech job and skills needs in our region, while on a provincial level the study will benefit from a greater representation of Central Alberta.
