MZ Hosted a Naturalization Ceremony last Week!
On Wednesday, 5 June, through the organizing efforts of the Tzedek committee, Mount Zion hosted a naturalization ceremony. There were 102 people from 40 different countries who became U. S. citizens in a stirring ceremony, made possible in part by the efforts of 22 Mount Zion volunteers and many Mount Zion staff members. Over 300 people filled Margolis Hall. If you seek hope grounded in reality, attending a naturalization ceremony can certainly provide that. If you would like to be involved in hosting a naturalization ceremony at Mount Zion in 2025, please contact Michael Kuhne (michaelckuhne@gmail.com).

In the Community
- JCRC invites students, parents, and educators to What's your story? Listening session on Jewish experiences in education on Thursday, June 13, 7 - 8pm at the Barry Family Campus. This listening session, with U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger, is to share how the October 7 terror attacks and the Israel-Hamas war have impacted K-12 and higher educational spaces. Details. Whether or not you plan to attend the listening session, JCRC invites you to complete this anonymous survey to help guide JCRC's ongoing education, advocacy, and relationship-building work to combat antisemitism and create communities where Jews experience safety and belonging over isolation and fear.
- JFCS will host a new Grief and Loss support group this summer. It will be a six-week psychoeducation and discussion group for those who recently experienced the death of a loved one (within the past two years). It will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, July 31, through Sept. 4, at JFCS (5905 Golden Valley Rd., Golden Valley). Details.
