Spontaneous Generation: The Work of Liam Lee at Ogunquit Museum of American Art

The Ogunquit Museum of American Art presents Spontaneous Generation: The Work of Liam Lee which showcases the fiber art of Liam Lee. Lee uses hand-dyed and needle-felted wool to explore the " breakdown in difference, differences between interior and exterior, the man-made and the natural world. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Ogunquit Museum of American Art is located at 543 Shore Road Ogunquit, ME. For more information, please visit here.

Greater than the Sum of its Parts at Galatea Fine Art

Galatea Fine Art presents Greater than the Sum of its Parts, an exhibition featuring the work of fiber artists who "create new visions" by "reinventing old techniques." The artists showing in this exhibition use "fabric, thread, wool, reeds, paper, wire and even plastic" to create magic, according to a curatorial statement. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 12-4 p.m., and by appointment. Hyunsuk Erickson: Thingumabob Society at Burlington City Arts

Burlington City Arts presents Hyunsuk Erickson: Thingumabob Society, a show featuring the fiber art of Hyunsuk Erikson who "explores ideas of materiality, resourcefulness, and identity." Erikson merges together sculpture and craft traditions while drawing upon memories of her family farm in Korea and of her experience of motherhood in the United States. The museum is open Wednesday through Friday and Sunday from 12-5 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Burlington City Arts is located at 405 Pine Street, Burlington, VT. Ellen Carey: Struck by Light

Representing her largest career survey in the Northeast in a decade, Ellen Carey: Struck by Light showcases iconic works spanning three decades of acclaimed Hartford-based artist Ellen Carey’s prolific career (1991-2022), drawn from the collections of the New Britain Museum of American Art and the artist.

NAWAMA

“Hopscotch Game of Wonder” is a multi-media exhibition, reception, and poetry reading at Opening Reception on Saturday, August 5, from 2-4 pm.


This event celebrates the lyrical talents of our notable poets, with Celeste and Nancy reading excerpts from their books.


The four participating contemporary artists will speak for a few minutes on their pieces, sharing their distinctive voice and style in “Hopscotch.”


Show through August 21 with Gallery hours daily from 11-5, located at 227 Spring St. Newport, RI.
