Who or what can you connect to in February?


START WITH YOURSELF.


Tap into truth. Is your relationship with YOU what it needs to be? Why or why not? This month be your own muse. Challenge yourself to respect your inner voice by honoring personal and professional intuition. Each day lead one personal and one business decision intuitively.


How can you meet the moment?


At the end of February reflect on your results. Did you form a deeper and more loving bond with yourself? If your answer is yes, commit to trusting yourself in March and rinse and repeat the process.


NEXT, REBOOT YOUR NETWORK.


Like me, you may have 1000’s of peeps on your social platforms, dozens within organizations, and still more from alumni and outside interests. Yet, relationships are not solely a numbers game. Bring your networks to life by doing a dedicated reach out and re-assort.


Nurture existing relationships. A more virtual world makes the act of getting to know you a bit harder, yet it offers you unlimited international access to people. Send a series of weekly emails, texts, and calls to connect and reconnect for virtual coffees with people who you generally want to mutually support and celebrate. Start each day with an outreach. Block out space on your calendar, perhaps an hour or two each Friday in February to meet or reconnect. Be strategic, because you want the meetings you are seeking to spur meaningful and heartfelt exchanges. The goal is intelligent conversations that matter and that leave people better than you found them.


Think about what you can offer to someone else. Not what you can sell them, but what you can offer them. This could be as simple as listening to a new proposal, or suggesting ideas for productivity, or introducing someone to a new person, group, podcast or even a book that could support them. Your network only works when you show up in it. Connecting to people is step one. The magic is in the nurturing and evolution of your connections. Make February the month that you comment more on social media or raise your hand to interact on the Zooms you attend. How can you actively stay in conversation with your network?


LASTLY, EXPAND YOUR BASE BY EDITING FORWARD.

 

Elevate energy. Who or what elevates your energy? Who do you want to meet? Why do you want to meet them? What is your value-add to this relationship or situation? How can you be memorable?


It is not enough to gain a contact here or there, or to simply collect people. Instead, seek to engage your network repeatedly from an energy-add perspective. Edit out who does not belong. Update who gets to stay. Use the 28 days of February to declutter your contact lists and subscriptions. Reset, recalibrate, and meet anew from there.
