Alzheimer's Resources

HMAA is proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association and its mission to create a world without Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is especially prevalent in Hawaii, with nearly 11.3% of adults age 65 and older having the disease.

These five tips to overcome dementia stigma are from the Alzheimer's Association’s Early-Stage Advisory Group, comprised of individuals in the early stages of the disease who help raise awareness, enhance care and support, and advance public policy.

The Alzheimer’s Association Hawaii Chapter provides resources on topics including the signs of Alzheimer’s, diagnosis, communication, and caregiving. Watch recordings from past meetings, sign up for classes, and more at their website.
