CAREER ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL GRADS

The excitement at the August 4 Career Online High School (COHS) graduation – the first in-person graduation since the start of COVID! – was palpable. More than 200 family members, friends, library supporters, and community leaders gathered at San José City Hall Rotunda to cheer the graduates on and to celebrate the milestone achievement of earning their high school diplomas.

The San José Public Library Foundation partners with the California State Library and generous donors to offer full scholarships to adult learners so they can attend COHS's online, nationally accredited program and earn their high school diplomas and high-demand career certificates for free.

Since its inception in 2016, 217 scholarships have been awarded. Learn how you can help us help hundreds more achieve their life-long dreams.

NOTICIAS UNIVISION 14 - IBM AI TECH CAMP

We are so proud of Jorge, a San José Aspires 10th grade student, who recently was featured on KDTV Noticias Univision 14. Univision, one of the leading Hispanic news stations in the country, covered San Jose’s IBM AI TECH CAMP, where students from the SJ Aspires program were invited to participate and given the opportunity to network with employees and learn about innovative technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity.

SJ Aspires - a partnership of the City of San José, the San José Public Library, and the San José Public Library Foundation - provides performance-based scholarships to students from underserved communities so they can attend college and chart a career path. This program would not be possible without the support of all our partners and donors.
