Understanding the impact of racism is critical to our work, which is why the team dedicated a day and a half to participate in a Groundwater Institute training.
The conversation was rich and provoked powerful comments about the impact of racism on individuals and our society, how systems were designed to perpetuate racism and how individuals may be complicit in sustaining the racial arrangement.

WalkBoston is now WalkMassachusetts
After more than 30 years of statewide advocacy, WalkBoston has changed its name to WalkMassachusetts. This name better reflects its statewide work with partners and community members across the Commonwealth and its new strategic plan.
As part of its strategic plan, WalkMassachusetts will continue to emphasize and promote equitable walking across the state. The name has changed, still its mission is the same: making walking safer and easier in Massachusetts to encourage better health, a cleaner environment, and more vibrant communities. WalkMassachusetts has received Foundation support.
