Faithful and Fearless: Community Organizing Retreat will ignite churches to focus on creating change

Register for the Community Organizing Retreat

The dates of the upcoming Community Organizing Training have been adjusted to better accommodate participants' needs. The retreat, which will empower and equip congregations in their justice work, begins on Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m. and runs through Saturday, April 6, at 7 p.m. at West River Retreat Center, 5100 Chalk Point Road in West River.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 20.

The theme of the retreat is "Faithful & Fearless: Igniting Purpose, Organizing for Change!"

Participating churches will delve into social justice work, learning to make the transition from mercy ministries to justice ministries. All those who have a vision for social change in their community are encouraged to attend. This community organizing training will offer valuable tools for engaging in social change from Christian and United Methodist perspectives.

Don't miss this opportunity to empower your congregation and advocate for meaningful change in your community.

Here's what you can expect from the training:

  •  Developing your voice and strategy: Understand theological principles to faithfully and fearlessly engage in social change.
  •  Grassroots Organizing: Gain a deeper understanding of community organizing techniques, from building a strong network to mobilizing community support.
  •  Becoming an Agent of Change: Discover your potential as a change-maker and develop the confidence to take action on the causes that resonate with you.
  • Creating Strategies for Change: Learn to move through the process of identifying critical issues in your community and developing effective strategies to address them.
  •  Community Building: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for change. Build lasting relationships and networks that will support your efforts.

The cost is $122.
