Spring is finally here and there's plenty to do in our beautiful city! See you around town!
Join Us for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Officially Open City Hall
The community is invited to the official opening of City Hall at its new location in City Springs! The event is scheduled to take place Monday, May 7, 2018 at 9 a.m. with a brief reception to follow. Located at 1 Galambos Way (30328) in the brand new City Springs development, the new City Hall will house City Management and Mayor and Council offices as well as general city services such as Public Works, Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Finance, Revenue, and Recreation and Parks. 
The building will also be home to a variety of meeting spaces designed for community gathering. The main lobby features several spaces for catching up with a neighbor or holding an impromptu committee meeting. The third floor conference level includes six separate areas which can be configured to serve a variety of meetings and events.The Sandy Springs Municipal Court and Sandy Springs Police Department headquarters will remain at their current location at 7840 Roswell Road (30350).
Farmers Market Moves to City Springs
Beginning Saturday, May 12 , the Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market will return to its original site, but will look very different! The Farmers Market will set up shop at the newly opened City Springs. To welcome the market home, City Springs Executive Chef Rodney Martin will do a cooking demo featuring items from the market.
22nd Season of Concerts By The Springs Kicks Off on Mother's Day!
Mark your calendar for this year's outdoor summer music series, Concerts by the Springs. Presented by Heritage Sandy Springs, this free series is open to the public and takes place one Sunday each month, May through September. On May 13, from 7 - 8:30 pm. the series kicks off with the popular duo, Banks and Shane! For more information visit Heritage Sandy Springs website .
Act3 Productions Presents: The Merry Wives of Windsor
Act3 Productions presents  The Merry Wives of Windsor , a comedy set in the 1950's, that channels iconic sitcoms such as  I Love Lucy . Two women receive love letters. Two husbands are determined to find out what's going on with hilarious results. May 18-27. Ticket information: act3productions.org. 
Titles @ Twilight
Heritage Sandy Springs'  Titles @ Twilight is a free series featuring local authors, whose stories of history and the South represent a variety of perspectives. On Wednesday, May 9, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. meet Steven Cooper whose most recent novel , Desert Remains: A Gus Parker and Alex Mills Novel , explores the story of Detective Alex Mills as he turns to psychic Gus Parker to help him solve a series of baffling murders.
National Kids to Parks Day
Sandy Springs is home to great parks, and on Saturday, May 19, help us celebrate our 9th annual Kids to Parks Day in the city. The National Park Trust created Kids to Park Day to encourage outdoor play. Our Recreation and Parks department has planned tons of activities at Hammond Park including obstacle… Activities run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free.
Summer Camp Registration - Don't Miss Out on the Fun!
Calling all happy campers, it's time to register for Sandy Spring summer camps! Athletes and artists alike will find activities suited for them and meet new friends along the way. Yoga Day Returns!
Mark your calendar to celebrate the 4th International Day of Yoga on  Sunday, June 24, 2017 from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. on the Heritage Sandy Springs entertainment lawn. The event is hosted by the Consulate General of India, the support of 50 Indian associations and the City.
Master Gardening Classes
Friends of Lost Corner will host the North Fulton Master Gardeners' Spring Lecture at the Lost Corner Cottage. This free lecture series will be held on Monday evenings through mid-May and will cover a variety topics. For the schedule and to register, please visit the Friends of Lost Corner website.

Calendar Changes for 2018
The Sandy Springs Board of Appeals and the Sandy Springs Planning Commission now meet on the 2 nd TUESDAY and the 4 th TUESDAY of each month, respectively. Please check the Public Meetings Calendar for monthly agendas.

Effective May 7, 2018, Board of Appeals meetings and Planning Commission meetings will be held at the new city hall location, Sandy Springs City Hall, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.

2018-22 Consolidated Plan and 2018 Action Plan
Public Hearing, Tuesday, May 15, 2018
 
The City of Sandy Springs has prepared the 2018-2022 Consolidated Plan and 2018 Annual Action Plan required for participation in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The Consolidated Plan describes broad goals, objectives, strategies and community needs for a 5-year period, as well as how the City anticipates using its allocation of CDBG funds in 2018.
 
The City of Sandy Springs anticipates receiving approximately $500,000 in 2018 CDBG funds to be available and proposes to use these funds for activities under the Public Improvements and Infrastructure category of eligibility. 2018 CDBG funds will be used to design and construct sidewalks in designated low- and moderate-income target areas along the Roswell Road corridor between Long Island Drive and The Prado and between Lake Placid Drive and Northwood Drive.
 
Adoption of the 2018-22 Consolidated Plan and 2018 Annual Action Plan is scheduled for the May 15, 2018, Mayor and City Council regular meeting. All meetings start at 6:00 p.m., are open to the public and held at the Sandy Springs City Hall, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA, 30328. Citizens in need of translation services or materials in alternative formats should call 770-730-5600 seven calendar days prior to the regularly scheduled meeting. Those interested in reviewing the plan will find it located on the CDBG webpage, which is accessed through the Community Development Department webpage: http://spr.gs/cdbg1
