State of the City Department Spotlight | |
Have you checked out the 2023 State of the City? It gives some information on developments by the City and its departments throughout the past year and provides updates on City projects to come in 2024.
This month we would like to feature our Parks & Leisure Department from the State of the City that is comprised of Parks, Leisure Services and the Library Divisions. The Parks Division maintains open spaces, including parks, trails and medians, as well as several community facilities. The Leisure Services Division facilitates programs, youth and adult sports and special community events. The Library Division provides literacy materials and services for all ages throughout our community.
The City is utilizing funding from a $7.8 million California State Parks Proposition 68 grant to develop the new Fourth Street Park and Community Center. The design phase is almost complete, and construction should begin soon. The skatepark at Veteran’s Park will see additions by March 2024, thanks to the same State grant funding.
