State of the City Address

Every December, the City of Porterville sponsors the Porterville Chamber of Commerce's First Friday Coffee event. First Friday Coffee is a networking opportunity for chamber members, businesses and community members to connect.

The 2023 State of the City event is now available to view virtually. This e-edition of the address is available as an informational publication providing an insightful summary of the State of the City Address as presented by Mayor Martha A. Flores on December 1, 2023.

Shop Local Porterville Contest

Shop Local Contest Deadline Extended

The deadline for the Shop Local Porterville Contest has been extended to Friday, December 22, 2023. This extension provides additional time for you to explore local businesses through the holiday shopping season and collect more visit marks.

Shop Local Porterville Contest Passports are available for pickup by doing any of the following:

Stopping by City Hall (291 N. Main St.). Please go to the Community Development Counter. Monday - Friday (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Visiting participating Porterville businesses. Please take a look at their business hours.

The City of Porterville uses the myPorterville App as a method to easily submit resident requests. You can submit service requests (potholes, street lights, trash collection, graffiti, and other non-emergency items) directly to us online or by using your mobile device and they will instantly be routed to the appropriate department administrator!

City Council Meeting Recap: December 19, 2023

Interim City Manager Appointed

The City Council appointed Patrice Hildreth as the Interim City Manager. Current City Manager, John Lollis, has resigned after 17 years of service; his last day will be January 5, 2024. Mrs. Hildreth has been employed with the City for 19 years and has been serving as the Deputy City Manager since 2019.

Other actions and announcements:

City Council approved the cancellation of the first Council meeting of the year - January 2, 2024. The next regular meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2024.
