List of Broadband Ready Communities Grows with Addition of Peach County
Similar to small towns across Georgia, Peach County was not immune from the struggles of COVID-19, and as an interstate community, travel reductions greatly impacted local revenues and job prospects. Broadband access, another issue highlighted by the pandemic, became a necessity for many individuals to stay employed given the changes within the rapid service sector.

With the Broadband designation, Peach County is now recognized as a Broadband Ready city/and or county whose local government has completed the application and demonstrated compliance with the adoption of a local comprehensive plan inclusive of the deployment of broadband services and a Broadband Model Ordinance.
Robins Air Force Base Small Business Outreach and First Look Workshop
The Air Force First Look Program's Goal is to give local small businesses the "First Look" to compete!

The First Look Workshop is focused on educating various Government procurement officials as well as the local community small businesses about the opportunities presented by First Look. The First Look Program was created by the United States Air Force in an effort to put a spotlight on small businesses around the country that are local to an Air Force base.

As Government officials search sites to fulfill requirements, the sites will highlight local small businesses that offer that product first. The United States Air Force has partnered with Amazon, Grainger, and others in providing an eCommerce approach to this program.

This workshop will be kicked off by Maj. General Cameron G. Holt, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Contracting, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, Washington, D.C. Following the First Look Workshop, there will be various units from Robins Air Force Base set up at booths to discuss their missions with small businesses and answer any questions from industry on how they could help support the mission.
