Gov. Beshear helps cut ribbon at ECTC BlueOval SK Training Center


Gov. Andy Beshear joined business and community leaders to cut the ribbon on a center that will train Kentuckians for new jobs at the BlueOval SK Battery Park, which is creating 5,000 new jobs. The park is located in Glendale and contains the two largest battery plants in the world.

North Hardin High School educator named 2024 Pathfinder


During a surprise event at North Hardin High School, college coach Annette Neblett was announced as the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College 2024 High School Teacher/Counselor Pathfinder Award recipient. Established by the Kentucky Community & Technical College System, the Pathfinder Award recognizes high school teachers and counselors for their outstanding efforts in assisting students with their college-going plans.

Four ECTC students participated in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas, April 29 – May 1. This marks the eighth consecutive year for ECTC students to compete in the prestigious event.

ECTC's popular summer Kids College returns for another week of fun-filled learning for students who have completed first grade through eighth grade. Registration opened May 1.

Attendees were 'Stronger Together' at Multi-Cultural Fair


ECTC'S Office of Cultural Diversity hosted the 2024 Multi-Cultural Fair, with the theme of "Stronger Together." The event was filled with international food, music, performers and more. Performances included Aseye African Drumming Ensemble and River Lotus Lion Dance, among others.

Sepulveda’s dedication shows in industrial maintenance classes


ECTC industrial maintenance student and Metallica Scholar Joe Sepulveda wanted a career that provided job security, but also offered variety.


“I like that industrial maintenance is hands on, and I like that I’m not walking into the same job every day,” he said. “Plus, the campus was close to home, and I knew people who had gone through this program, so I could see how good it was.”

ECTC graduate honors grandmother’s legacy with nursing degree  


ECTC recent graduate Josette Reed was committed to earning her nursing degree, so much so that even after having her fourth baby during her first semester in the program, she returned to class a week later. 


“I was determined not to miss class,” she said. “And I only missed one.” 


Reed’s biggest motivation is to help her children have a better life. Managing her responsibilities as a single mother and nursing student wasn’t easy, but with the encouragement of her professors she was able to keep going.
