MFE is excited to preview our Spring and Mother's Day fundraiser! We're partnering with FairTrade Caravans to raise money for our schools while supporting artisans and farmers worldwide. Sales are open until May 6th. 25% of each sale will go directly to MFE, funding teacher-sponsored projects in Medway schools.

Nominations for the Burke/Memorial School Plaque are open. Do you know someone who has devoted themselves to service and volunteerism and has made Medway schools/town life better for those who follow? Residents, past or present, who have sacrificed their lives or freedom in service to their country, either as members of the military or as civilians contributing to military or peace efforts, may also be nominated.

Kindergarten registration is open for the 2024-2025 school year. 2024-2025 kindergarten students must be five years old by August 31, 2024. Registration information will be available in three locations: 1) online, 2). Office of the Superintendent at 45 Holliston St., and 3). Office of the McGovern School at 9 Lovering St.

The Kindergarten Program (formerly known as Kindergarten Camp) is July 29 - August 2, 2024. If you have a rising kindergarten student, check out our Introduction to Kindergarten Program. You can use the online registration form to register your child for a week of fun-filled activities. This is a great way to help your child transition into kindergarten. Students must be registered for kindergarten to attend the Introduction to Kindergarten Program.

MEDWAY COMMUNITY EDUCATION

In this class, instructor Karen Siegel will teach you how to make the perfect royal icing consistency to fill and outline your spring-themed cookies. The class is on May 9 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the Burke Memorial School cafeteria.

In this workshop, we will come togeher in an intimate group to explore our emotions and energy, and deeply connect with our own hearts. Join certified life coach and intuitive energy practitioner, Amanda Johnson. The class is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

In this class, we will be combining the colors of lemons and limes in our floral decorating. This class is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Medway High School.

Start planning your child's summer schedule. Registration is OPEN.

Participants are taught how to handle injuries and manage illness in the first few minutes until help arrives. This class will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 6:00-8:30 pm in the Burke Memorial School Library.

'SUPMEDWAY

What is the #buildingbrightbrains campaign about? It is a series of initiatives to share messages with parents and adolescents that brains continue to develop until age 25, and choices made during youth can change the brain's structure for better or worse. Like this post or follow SUP Medway as we continue to empower both teens and their parents with tips on what "boosts" the brain and facts on what to avoid to not "bust" brain development.

Set against May's blossoming flowers, join the Medway Cultural Council for an early Mother's Day celebration with a delightful High Tea fundraiser on May 11, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 PM at the Thayer Homestead.

The Medway Lions Club Shred-it event is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 9:00 am to Noon. Bring your papers to the Medway Middle School, 45 Holliston Street. This event is open to Medway residents.

This Saturday, May 4, is the Lions Club's Bottle and Can Drive! Place your redeemable bottles and cans at the end of your driveway by 8:30 a.m. Thanks to all the Medway Lions volunteers who transform these bottles and cans.

We have openings for the Sunshine Group Summer Program - Tuesday, July 9 - Friday, August 16. Children ages 4 and up are welcome.

Medway Pride Day is right around the corner! This annual community event brings residents, businesses, and organizations together to show pride in the Town of Medway. Connecting with neighbors and learning about all Medway offers is a fantastic opportunity.

Medway Pride Day will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. at the Medway Middle School (45 Holliston Street). In the event of severe weather, Medway Pride Day will be canceled.

All are welcome to gather on May 31, 2024, to raise the pride flag at Choate Park. The schedule is as follows: 6:00 pm. flag raising on Rte. 109 in front of Choate Park.6:30-8:30 pm. festivities at the Choate Park pavilion.

DPW will host a Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Here is a list of acceptable items in the flyer.

The Medway Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on May 18 at 9:00 am. Please stop by the Medway Recycling Center at 46 Broad Street and help the Garden Club with your purchase.

MEDWAY PARKS AND RECREATION

Medway Parks and Recreation is looking for an experienced, patient, knowledgeable, and energetic staff member to serve as the Head Swim Coach Director for the Medway/Millis Summer Swim Team. This is a seasonal, part-time, non-benefit-eligible position. Interested candidates may submit an Employment Application and resume to Cheryl Houle choule@townofmedway.org.

Join us Tuesday, May 14th, for the BLAST - Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training course that covers handling some of the basics of infant and childcare and reacting responsibly to medical emergencies and injuries. We'll learn how to call 911, perform first aid for common childhood injuries and illnesses, and build your own babysitting business. The course is open to anyone in Grades 5-8. *This class includes a CPR and First aid certification.* 

Early release day = Fun! Join us for some mid-week adventure. Grab your friends and hop on the bus for a fun field trip! We are heading to Tree Top Adventures in Canton on Friday, May 17th, and you don’t want to miss out!  

Do you enjoy running? This class will help work on goal setting, setting up a plan on how to achieve those goals and then actually achieve them. We will have fun running, setting new goals, and getting fit with fun games. This club meets on Monday afternoons starting May 6th! 

Unplug and tune in to old-fashioned family fun! Join us on Sunday, May 12^th for a fun-filled BINGO night with your family and friends. 

The Town of Medway Parks and Recreation Department is looking for an experienced, patient, knowledgeable, and energetic staff member to serve as the Director of the Medway Teen Venture Camp. Must be available for the four weeks of Teen Venture (July 15 – August 9th), Monday – Friday, 8:45 am-3:15 pm.

MEDWAY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Friends of the Medway Public Library's Book Sale is May 10 &  May 11. Friends ONLY Book sale is Friday, May 10, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, and the General Sale is May 11, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. The library is located at 26 High Street.

This free program serves homebound Medway residents of retirement or nursing facilities and individual homebound Medway residents of all ages. A librarian will coordinate the delivery of books and other circulating library items. Monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly delivery schedules will be arranged for participants. MEDWAY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Medway Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the Medway Police Department, which is excited to announce that it will host its FIRST Youth Leadership Academy this summer! We currently accept recruits ages 12 and 13 for two sessions: June 24-28, 2024, and August 19-23, 2024!

Recruits will spend the week participating in team-building exercises, field games, drills, and ceremonies and learning about different aspects of policing. They can also attend an optional off-site field trip and receive an academy shirt and water bottle!

MEDWAY FIRE DEPARTMENT

Light the Night for fallen firefighters the week of May 1-5, 2024. Please join the Medway Fire Department and National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honoring and remembering the sacrifice of America's fallen fire heroes. We invite landmarks, fire and community organizations, businesses, and homes nationwide to light up red.
