MEDWAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

We are pleased to announce the merger of the Medway Elementary PTO and the Medway Secondary PTO into a single parent-teacher organization called Medway Education PTO (MEPTO). This change will be effective on July 1, 2024, and the 2024-2025 executive board will be announced soon. This merger will help us better serve the Medway Public Schools community as it will streamline the roles and functions of the board, decrease prior confusion around separate organizations, and increase parent involvement throughout the schools.

The summer months allow families to reconnect differently than they may have the opportunity to during the school year. Sometimes, these several weeks challenge families due to the change in schedule and access to essential resources such as food and social and emotional support. These flyers provide an array of family and student resources available in Medway this summer related to family fun, food, staying active, and community support.

Medway Public Schools seeks a Pre-K teacher for grades PreK-1 at McGovern Elementary School. The candidate must be DESE Special Education licensed/certified. If interested, please contact Amy McDonald at amcdonld@medwayschools.org.

The Kindergarten Program (formerly Kindergarten Camp) is July 29 - August 2, 2024. You can check out our Introduction to Kindergarten Program if you have a rising kindergarten student. Use the online registration form to register your child for a week of fun-filled activities. This is a great way to help your child transition into kindergarten. Students must be registered for kindergarten to attend the Introduction to Kindergarten Program.

Medway Public Schools is looking for an audio/visual booth operator. This part-time, per diem position reports to the Director of IT. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in operating lighting, audio, and video controls. Typically, events occur over the weekend, occasionally with weekday evening events included.

Kindergarten registration is open for the 2024-2025 school year. 2024-2025 kindergarten students must be five years old by August 31, 2024. Registration information will be available in three locations: 1) online, 2). Office of the Superintendent at 45 Holliston St., and 3). Office of the McGovern School at 9 Lovering St.

'SUPMEDWAY

What is the #buildingbrightbrains campaign about? It is a series of initiatives to share messages with parents and adolescents that brains continue to develop until age 25, and choices made during youth can change the brain's structure for better or worse. Like this post or follow SUP Medway as we continue to empower both teens and their parents with tips on what "boosts" the brain and facts on what to avoid to not "bust" brain development.

Medway Parks and Recreation is looking for an experienced, patient, knowledgeable, and energetic staff member to serve as the Head Swim Coach Director for the Medway/Millis Summer Swim Team. This is a seasonal, part-time, non-benefit-eligible position. Interested candidates may submit an Employment Application and resume to Cheryl Houle choule@townofmedway.org.

Join us Thursday, June 30th, for a Spring Paint Night. Participants will listen to music, be creative, and have fun. At the end of the session, each painter will have their own 11” by 14” painting to keep. All supplies and instruction are provided!

Join On the Mark Archery and learn the martial art of archery using beautiful wooden recurve bows to focus more on the form and technique rather than just the aiming. Build character, self-esteem, and confidence with each triumph and tribulation on the range as you work hard to achieve consistent success! 

A one-hour vinyasa yoga class is accessible for all levels, from beginners to advanced yogis. The class will have a therapeutic approach with a focus on bringing harmony between mind and body. Linking breath to gentle movement sequences helping to improve mobility at a lower intensity all while allowing your heart rate to increase

Join us on Wednesdays in July and August for FREE fun events in the park! We will feature various shows, presenters and activities starting at 1pm at Choate Park.

MEDWAY PUBLIC LIBRARY

This free program serves homebound Medway residents of retirement or nursing facilities and individual homebound Medway residents of all ages. A librarian will coordinate the delivery of books and other circulating library items. Monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly delivery schedules will be arranged for participants. MEDWAY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Medway Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the Medway Police Department, which is excited to announce that it will host its FIRST Youth Leadership Academy this summer! We currently accept recruits ages 12 and 13 for two sessions: June 24-28, 2024, and August 19-23, 2024!

Recruits will spend the week participating in team-building exercises, field games, drills, and ceremonies and learning about different aspects of policing. They can also attend an optional off-site field trip and receive an academy shirt and water bottle!
