MEPTO's favorite FUNdraiser is back! This year's event will be held on April 26th from 5-8 pm at Medway High School. All McGovern and Memorial students are welcome to enjoy an ice cream sundae while we raffle off various theme baskets compiled by each classroom! Raffle Tickets will be 50 cents each! We will sell tickets at the event, but all sales will close by 6:30 pm so we can begin pulling winners at 7:00! Bring a donation to the event for the Medway Food Pantry to earn extra tickets!! Nominations for the Burke/Memorial School Plaque are open. Do you know someone who has devoted themselves to service and volunteerism and has made Medway schools/town life better for those who follow? Residents, past or present, who have sacrificed their lives or freedom in service to their country, either as members of the military or as civilians contributing to military or peace efforts, may also be nominated.

Kindergarten registration is open for the 2024-2025 school year. 2024-2025 kindergarten students must be five years old by August 31, 2024. Registration information will be available in three locations: 1) online, 2). Office of the Superintendent at 45 Holliston St., and 3). Office of the McGovern School at 9 Lovering St.

MEDWAY COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Instructor, Karen Siegel will show you step-by-step the best way to decorate a cake using buttercream frosting. The class will take place on Thursday, April 25 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Burke Memorial School, 9 Cassidy Lane.

Join us for a fun night of sipping and painting at Craftroots Brewing Company on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Your instructor, Amanda Carretta, will guide you step-by-step through the process of painting the portrait.

English Paper Piecing is a traditional form of quilting sewn by hand. During this workshop, master quilter Judy Paiva will discuss choosing fabrics, "fussy cutting", the best needle and thread choices, etc. This class will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Start planning your child's summer schedule. Registration opens April 4 at 6:00 pm.

Join local artist Kerry Consentino to create your custom pebble art picture. This class is a beautiful opportunity to make a sentimental piece for yourself or as a gift for someone else. Class will be held at the Muffin House Cafe on Wednesday, May 12, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

'SUPMEDWAY

What is the #buildingbrightbrains campaign about? It is a series of initiatives to share messages with parents and adolescents that brains continue to develop until age 25, and choices made during youth can change the brain's structure for better or worse. Like this post or follow SUP Medway as we continue to empower both teens and their parents with tips on what "boosts" the brain and facts on what to avoid to not "bust" brain development.

The next SUPMedway Friday Night Done Right event is on April 26th in the Medway Middle School Old Gym (location change) from 6-8 pm. This night's main attraction will be a laser tag tournament. We have also added an end-of-the-school-year field trip! If a student has attended at least 3 Friday Night Done Right events, they will be eligible to participate in a field trip to Supercharged on May 31st, free of cost.

TOWN OF MEDWAY

Join us for the annual town meeting on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Medway High School, 88 Summer Street. The warrant in draft form is available to read by clicking the link to the right.

Town Election will be held on Tuesday, May 21, from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm at the Medway Middle School, 45 Holliston Street. Click the Town Election link to view information regarding candidates (anyone with the words "returned with signatures" will be on the ballot). The last day to pull papers has passed.

Set against May's blossoming flowers, join the Medway Cultural Council for an early Mother's Day celebration with a delightful High Tea fundraiser on May 11, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 PM at the Thayer Homestead.

The Medway Lions Club Shred-it event is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 9:00 am to Noon. Bring your papers to the Medway Middle School, 45 Holliston Street. This event is open to Medway residents.

Medway Cultural Council - MEDCC presents, I'll Be There For You on May 1 at 6:30 pm at the Medway High School auditorium. This prevention play and talk back are free - no tickets necessary!

The deadline has passed to license/renew your dog (March 31, 2024). However, we offer a 15-day grace period until April 15. After that, a $50.00 late fee will be applied per dog. Please obtain a license in person at the Town Clerk's Office.

Medway Pride Day is right around the corner! This annual community event brings residents, businesses, and organizations together to show pride in the Town of Medway. Connecting with neighbors and learning about all Medway offers is a fantastic opportunity.

Medway Pride Day will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. at the Medway Middle School (45 Holliston Street). In the event of severe weather, Medway Pride Day will be canceled.

All are welcome to gather on May 31, 2024, to raise the pride flag at Choate Park. The schedule is as follows: 6:00 pm. flag raising on Rte. 109 in front of Choate Park.6:30-8:30 pm. festivities at the Choate Park pavilion.

Medway's 11th annual Clean Sweep is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 8:00 to 11:00 am.

Saturday, April 27 is National DEA Medication Take Back Day. Drive-in and drop off your unwanted medications at Medway Town Hall 9:00 am to noon in the rear parking lot. Tabs/pills, lotions, patches, and liquids will be accepted.

Town Hall is located at 155 Village Street.

Join Safe Coalition and Alli Stokowski, LICSW, at Medway Town Hall on Monday, April 22, to ask the questions you have about mental health, substance abuse, challenging or scary behaviors, and everything in between. Meet with Alli in the 1st-floor conference room at Town Hall, 155 Village Street, from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm to answer all your questions. The Medway Opiod Settlement Fund supports this program.

Join Ana from Lovely Picture Studio to learn how to take better photos of your kids and family. At the end of the session, you will receive a digital portrait of your little one or a new headshot for you! 

Golf is a lifelong sport, but what makes golf even better is playing with friends and loved ones. The children will be introduced to traditional golf grips and hitting stances and get a little practice with putting and chipping. 

Join us on Monday or Thursday evenings for a one-hour vinyasa yoga class accessible for all levels. The class will take a therapeutic approach and focus on bringing harmony between mind and body. 

Join us from Let’s Paint Club for a Spring Paint Night. Participants will listen to music, be creative, and have fun. At the end of the session, each painter will have their own 11” by 14” painting to keep. All supplies and instruction are provided! 

The Town of Medway Parks and Recreation Department is looking for an experienced, patient, knowledgeable, and energetic staff member to serve as the Director of the Medway Teen Venture Camp. Must be available for the four weeks of Teen Venture (July 15 – August 9th), Monday – Friday, 8:45 am-3:15 pm.

MEDWAY PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Medway Public Library seeks a Community Area Steward. This position will remain in the Library and maintain the security of the Library building and its contents while the public accesses the first-floor facilities, such as the lobby, meeting rooms, maker space, restrooms, and computers. This free program serves homebound Medway residents of retirement or nursing facilities and individual homebound Medway residents of all ages. A librarian will coordinate the delivery of books and other circulating library items. Monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly delivery schedules will be arranged for participants. MEDWAY COUNCIL ON AGING

MEDWAY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Medway Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the Medway Police Department, which is excited to announce that it will host its FIRST Youth Leadership Academy this summer! We currently accept recruits ages 12 and 13 for two sessions: June 24-28, 2024, and August 19-23, 2024!

Recruits will spend the week participating in team-building exercises, field games, drills, and ceremonies and learning about different aspects of policing. They can also attend an optional off-site field trip and receive an academy shirt and water bottle!

Are you wondering what to do with your eclipse glasses? Donate them to us, and we'll take care of it!

Did you know there will be a solar eclipse in South America in October? Companies like Eclipse Glasses USA are accepting glasses donations to send to schools in South America for their eclipse viewing.

We will be collecting eclipse glasses at MPD until 4/30. After that, Sergeant Nigro will be shipping them off so others can enjoy the eclipse in October!

Light the Night for fallen firefighters the week of May 1-5, 2024. Please join the Medway Fire Department and National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honoring and remembering the sacrifice of America's fallen fire heroes. We invite landmarks, fire and community organizations, businesses, and homes nationwide to light up red.
