Important updates about our return to campus
As we return to our regular operations this week, Interim Provost Eric Eisenberg has provided guidance on resuming classes today.
- While we do not anticipate the need for additional class time added to the semester, we are working with the Florida Board of Education and our accreditors to confirm this. If necessary, we will communicate any changes to the academic calendar ASAP.
- Please connect with your students via Canvas and let them know your specific expectations for the coming week.
- Please update due dates and assignment/exam dates, allowing time as necessary for students to return to learning. Adjust the semester to reduce your stress as well. Continue to be flexible with individual students that may be dealing with challenges from the hurricane.
- Please note any significant changes to the syllabus, such as major adjustments to course assignments and grading practices that benefit student success, and file these changes with your academic department, along with the original syllabus already on file.
-
For additional tips in promoting Student Learning Outcomes after a disruption, communicating with students, and minimizing your stress in the process, our partners in the Center for Teaching & Learning (CITL) have put together a list of helpful considerations and tips.
For additional support, professional counselors for faculty and staff are available through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) by visiting Magellan Health Care Resources. USF's Human Resources team has also compiled a list of additional resources. We urge anyone who needs extra support to take advantage of these services.
