The Learning Academy at USF announces rebrand to LAUNCH USF


The Learning Academy Services at USF, a long-time leader in transition and employment services for autistic adults, announced a major rebranding. The rebrand to LAUNCH USF reflects how the organization has grown and expanded over the years. Don Kincaid

FCIC director receives Leadership Award from APBS


Donald Kincaid, EdD, a professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies and director of the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC), was awarded the 2023 Leadership Award from the Association for Positive Behavior Support (APBS). Kincaid helped form APBS and served on the APBS board for many years, with three terms as APBS president. APBS presents several awards each year in concurrence with the International Conference on Positive Behavior Support. Virtual 2023 Summer Institute: Strategies to Support School-Aged Children with Severe Emotional and Behavioral Disorders

June 30 | 9 a.m. - noon


The second presentation in this series will introduce a systems of care approach to promote family-school collaboration in the problem-solving process when addressing mental health concerns of students. The third presentation will provide an overview of assistive technology (AT) and introduce multiple levels of AT and instructional technologies that can be incorporated into lives of children with disabilities to enhance their learning and promote success in schools.
