IN-PERSON WORSHIP AND LIVE STREAMING

Belong. Believe. Be love.

February 5, 2023 @ 9:30 am.

  • Masking is encouraged for in-person worship.
  • If you have any symptoms that are not usual, regardless of severity, please worship from home.
  • We strongly recommend being fully vaccinated and up to date with boosters, as gathering indoors for an hour comes with risk.

We trust that you will prayerfully consider the best worshiping option for your household, and want to assure you that worshiping from home continues to be an option for those who choose to do so. We love you all!

Bulletin:

Bulletin (all words are on our worship video):

Worship Bulletin - February 5, 2023

Please have bread (or crackers) and juice (or wine) ready to partake in Holy Communion.

A bleeding emergency can happen anywhere and severe bleeding can lead to loss of life in as little as 5 minutes.

The good news is anyone can save a life if they have the skills and resources to control bleeding until more advanced care is available.

With that in mind, Health Ministries will be purchasing bleeding control kits for the sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, the Education Building, and the youth room. Once kits have arrived, training will be offered to congregants and then later to those who rent our facilities.

It is estimated that the kits will cost around $1200.00, so if anyone would like to donate to this project, please click on the following link:

Stop The Bleed Control Kit

Donations can also be made via personal check. Make sure you indicate in the memo of your check: "Stop The Bleed Kit"

UUMC Hosts Missions & Outreach Luncheon

for Mission Area

Sue Harriss, UUMC Missions Chair and Cal-Pac UMVIM Coordinator, along with members of the missions team hosted a luncheon for clergy and laity from churches in the Orange County Central Mission Area (including Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Tustin Aldersgate, and UUMC). Our District Superintendent, Rev. Sandy Olewine, attended and encouraged us to collaborate in mission and service to the world, including the introduction of an Impact Sunday event on May 21st.

UUMC Represented at Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank's Installation Service

Pastor Cathie, Deaconess Sharon McCart, Dale McCart, and Annelle Arthur traveled to Pasadena FUMC to participate in the Installation Service for our new Bishop, Dottie Escobedo-Frank. It was a wonderful worship with the richness of our Annual Conference diversity reflected in song (Holman UMC Choir and Tongan Choir from Pomona UMC), and a powerful sermon sending us into the world to show that we love Jesus through our actions of love, justice, and mercy.

Brunch Bunch

Weds, 9:30 am, Center of Warmth

Join us in 2023 as we start our new book, "Seeing in the Dark: finding God's Light in the Most Unexpected Places"

by Nancy Ortberg.

Readers will discover afresh how God always finds a way to pierce even the darkest night of the soul with His redeeming presence and grace. Ortberg specifically helps Christians see the light when death occurs, disease takes hold, children suffer, depression oppresses, and simple discouragement from life’s hard knocks threatens to overtake faith, hope, and love

SEEING IN THE DARK is a terrific book to buy and refer back to as needed, as well as one to give to a friend.

Make sure you join us in the New Year!

UUMC MEMBERS IN ACTION
TRACKING VOLUNTEER HOURS

Being the Church is not something that just happens on Sunday mornings for about an hour, but it is a way of life. Discipleship is the journey of living not solely for self, but out of love for God and neighbor. As the many members of Christ's body, the Church, we are invited to be "all in," committing our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

The many hours we spend in service to God at the local church and throughout the community on an individual level is impressive; yet, our collective efforts reach even farther and reflect the true vitality of our Church.

Beginning in 2022, we will be tracking volunteer hours done at church and in the community on a monthly basis. These hours will be reported to the Conference in our annual report, and we want to be able to celebrate the collective impact our church has in making the world a better place.

Prizes will be offered at our Quarterly Conferences to individuals who have submitted their hours and guess closest to the number of hours of service given in total by our UUMC members!

Allow your work to be counted collectively by filling out our tracking sheet TODAY!

(Volunteer hours at church include those in the office, counting, ushering, greeting, singing, decorating, cleaning, painting, teaching, serving on committees, calling our members, etc. Volunteers hours in the community include all those given to organizations supporting needs or helping individuals in the community.)

Click on the link below and submit it once you have filled it out. Thank you!
