Boston University Marsh Chapel

Dear Marsh,

Dear Friends,

Grace and peace to one and all, with the hope that this will be and become a blessed Lent for us all. We hope you will join us this Saturday, 8pm, March 2, in the nave, for a beautiful Marsh Chapel choir concert. We hope you will come and participate in our seasonal Bible study, Sundays at 9:45am in the Thurman room, beginning March 3. We hope you will choose to receive our daily Lenten devotions, along with the 800 or so who now receive it daily. We hope you will attend our Holy Week services, always a high point in our annual liturgical calendar: Palm Sunday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. We hope you will join us for Brunch on Easter Sunday, 8am-11am

In short, we hope for a truly blessed Lent for you, 2024!

Bob

Scarlatti's exquisite composition for 10 solo voices is followed by a Bach re-arrangement of Pergolesi's popular 1736 version, set to Psalm 51.

Join us for a fabulous night of beautiful music featuring our incredibly talented Choral Scholars!

This Concert will also be Livestreamed on our website!

News from the Marsh Office

A note from the Rev. Dr. Jessica Chicka on Ramadan:

Entering into March, we recognize that the holy month of Ramadan will begin for our Muslim siblings on March 10th. Ramadan is observed by Muslims through fasting, prayer, reflection, community, and charity. Marsh Chapel & Religious Life have been collaborating with the Islamic Society of Boston University (ISBU), the Dean of Students office, and BU Dining to provide space for daily prayers and iftar and suhoor meals for students throughout this month. Students will be able to use their meal plan for both suhoor (pre-fast meal in the morning) and iftar (fast-breaking meal in the evening) meals. For students without a meal plan, Marsh Chapel & Religious Life has subsidized the cost of the iftar meals by half so that they are more affordable. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to the appropriate resources to meaningfully observe their religious traditions.

Chapel Office Updates Ahead!

We are thrilled to announce the Main Marsh Chapel Office is getting a much needed update! The update will include new flooring, fresh paint, and updated signage and furniture. Construction will begin Monday, April 1st. The office will remain open in varying capacities throughout the remodel project, often functioning out of the Thurman or Marsh Rooms. Use of the bathrooms and other lower level spaces will not be disrupted.

We look forward to sharing this new, improved space with you!
