John Rutter's "Requiem"

The Ainsworth Choir

Each year we enter the season of Eastertide with a new opportunity to contemplate how Christ's resurrection has become the hope on which we rely when the lives of those we love reach their end. The Ainsworth Choir will celebrate Eastertide and provide a musical opportunity to rejoice in the promise of resurrection when they present British composer John Rutter's "Requiem" during the worship service on Sunday April 16. Using a combination of liturgical texts and scripture, Maestro Rutter has created a beautiful musical backdrop for the consideration of our reliance on God for peace and eternal rest. Please join us at 11:00 on Sunday, when the reassuring words, "I am the resurrection and the life," will take on an enhanced meaning as the beautiful voices of the Ainsworth Choir, the sounds of a professional chamber orchestra, and the perfect acoustic of the Mulberry Sanctuary combine to create a renewed sense of hope.

World Upside Down: a Bible Study on Acts

Sundays from 5:30-7:00 pm in the Conference Room,

Beginning April 16

In this class, led by Payton, we will explore the first half of Acts! We will discuss how the death and resurrection of Jesus ushers in a new way of life grounded in the work of the Holy Spirit; this work of the Spirit through God’s people (the Church) turns the “world upside down” (17:6) as the earliest Christians proclaimed that Jesus was King of Kings and lived out this truth together as the Church. We will examine the major events (Jesus’ Ascension, Pentecost, the Jerusalem Council), the major players (Peter, Paul, James, the Ethiopian Eunuch), and how their stories intersect ours today. We hope you’ll join us for this exciting study!

The Road Back to You: an Enneagram Book Study

Wednesdays at 5:30 in the Conference Room, Beginning 4/19

The Enneagram is a tool for spiritual, personal, and relational growth. Learn how God made us all in God's image and made us each unique at the same time. We will read The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey of Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile. Dana Goshorn will facilitate discussion. Please share your interest in this study by filling out this form. This group will begin to meet April 19 at 5:30 pm..

The Rhythm of Life: Sabbath Practice

Wednesdays at 5:30 pm in the Parlor Beginning 4/19

Led by Ted Goshorn, this study is based around Ted's dissertation on Sabbath. Participants will learn more about the practice of Sabbath and examine what it means to define your life by Sabbath and rest, rather than by the demands of work and life. Please read this piece before the first meeting!

Contact Ted with any questions.
