Weekly Prayer

Prayer when opening a door

I pray thee, Lord, to open the door of my heart to receive thee within my heart.

When washing clothes

I pray thee, Lord, to wash my heart, making me white as snow.

When sweeping floors

I pray thee, Lord, to sweep away my heart’s uncleanness, that my heart may always be pure.

When pouring oil

I pray thee, Lord, to give me wisdom like the wise virgins who always had oil in their vessels.

When posting a letter

I pray thee, Lord, to add to me faith upon faith, that I may always have communication with thee.

When lighting lamps

I pray thee, Lord, to make my deeds excellent like lamps before others, and more, to place thy true light within my heart.

When watering flowers

I pray thee, Lord, to send down spiritual rain into my heart, to germinate the good seed there.

When boiling water for tea

I pray thee, Lord, to send down spiritual fire to burn away the coldness of my heart and that I may always be hot-hearted in serving thee.

"Prayers By Chinese Christian Women" from TheValueOfSparrows.wordpress.com

May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, a time to honor and recognize the contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. The term Asian/Pacific encompasses a wide range of cultures from the Asian continent to the Pacific islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. At CCOP, we are fortunate to have many members and friends who share this rich heritage. To celebrate this month, we will be sharing the Peace of Christ in Chinese and listening to the inspiring testimonies of our brothers and sisters. Join us as we embrace diversity and unity within our community during this special time.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who joined us last night at the Tomaquag Museum event. Your presence made the evening truly special and memorable. It was a pleasure to see familiar faces and meet new friends as we came together to celebrate and support the museum. Your enthusiasm and support mean the world to us, and we are grateful for your continued dedication to preserving and promoting Indigenous culture. We look forward to welcoming you back for future events and collaborations. Thank you once again for being a part of our community and making the event a success!

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming four-part sermon series starting next Sunday, where we will dive into the captivating stories of unlikely heroes. Join us as we explore the lives of individuals who defied the odds and rose to greatness, showcasing courage, resilience, and unwavering faith. Each week, we will uncover the inspiring narratives that remind us that heroism comes in many forms. Don't miss this opportunity to be uplifted and encouraged by the remarkable tales of these unsung champions.

Women Together upcoming meeting reminder on Saturday, May 4th, from 9-11am in Rhodes Hall. During this gathering, we will finish up with chapters 9 and 10 of the inspiring book "School of the Spirit." Light refreshments, along with coffee and tea, will be provided. We are eager to come together for a time of fellowship, worship, meaningful conversations, and prayer. Join us for a morning of enriching discussions and community bonding.

Prayer Request for the Fraser and Poole Families

As we mourn the passing of his earthly life, yet celebrate the beginning of his eternal life, we give thanks for the many years Howard Fraser shared his gifts in the choir of Community Church, and keep his wife, Gail, a longtime member of our congregation, and their family in our prayers.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:15
