Two of our library staff members, both Bloomfield High School alumni, are moving on and up. We’re sad to see them go, but excited for them to embark on new adventures. Did we also mention how very proud we are of them?

Dejah - From BPL Library Assistant to Software Engineer!

On December 16, Dejah graduated from CCSU with her biggest supporters in attendance: her mom, grandma, and grandpa. After earning a BS in Computer Science, Dejah will begin employment with a financial technology company that works with banks and credit unions in the Northeast. In her new position as a Software Engineer, she will be working with a team to develop and improve online banking software solutions.

Demoi - From BPL Library Page to Product Engineer!

Demoi is set to graduate from the University of Hartford later this spring. His degree has already come in handy as his internship placement turned into a job offer. In his new position as a Product Engineer for a thermal spray coating company, Demoi will be using software to design tooling to improve the powder coating process, including creating 3D models and technical drawings for parts. He will also be speaking to customers about starting new jobs at the facility.

In addition, Library Technical Associate Zuzana will be retiring at the end of December 2023 after 43+ years of service at BPL. She joins Heidi, former BPL Youth Librarian, and Priscilla, former BPL Reference Librarian, who both moved on to new adventures this year. We wish them all the best of luck!
