Have You Visited Our BPL Atrium Location Yet?

This past month, we celebrated a record number of BPL Atrium visits. In July, 2,153 people visited our full service temporary location at 1300 Hall Boulevard. In addition to book browsing, making copies, scanning documents and using computers, we had folks signing up for the Summer Reading program, checking out Chromekits and Hotspots, using study rooms, joining our ABC storytimes and playing in the Children's area, printing out stories from the Story Cube, attending teen/adult craft programs, checking out museum passes, and using the space as a cooling center. If you haven't visited this unique location, we encourage you to check it out! If you have a neighbor who hasn't visited yet, we hope you will spread the word. We have curbside pickup available for those who would like to pick up their items at the door. We also have an outdoor book drop available 24/7. Remember: library cards are FREE and are available from birth! See you soon!

By conducting interviews with attendees of a weekly Friday dinner in Hartford, Carey captures not only the lives of our neighbors, but remains committed to a dignified and honest portrayal devoid of stereotypes and focused on trust, empathy, and unconditional love. Since the pandemic, inflation has risen significantly, causing central banks around the world to raise interest rates. Will the Federal Reserve push the world’s largest economy into a recession? If so, what would that mean for our workforce and financial markets? Tim Baker, CFA, Founder & CEO of Metric Financial, will explore how recessions come to be, their broader implications, and whether one is coming.
