Want to try an epic fantasy series? Talk to Jean!

If you have ever stopped by our Prosser location on a Saturday, you have probably met Jean Rawlings. Jean has been a Librarian at Bloomfield Public Library since 2014.

Jean's favorite author is Brandon Sanderson and she highly recommends that people read his book Rhythm of War, the fourth installment in his epic fantasy series The Stormlight Archive. Jean also likes that Sanderson advocates for independent authors to get fair compensation from retailers.

Jean enjoys listening to audiobooks on Hoopla and Libby. She recently listened to an audiobook that was 60 hours long! When she isn’t listening to a great new audiobook, Jean likes to spend time with her dog, an English Shepherd.

One Library Card, Endless Possibilities

BPL Strategic Plan Summer 2021-2025

Goal 1: One Library Card, Endless Possibilities

Library cards are free! Bloomfield residents of all ages from birth are eligible for a library card, yet only 33% of Bloomfield residents have one.

  • Increase the number of residents with a library card.
  • Expand the potential of a library card.
  • Spread the word! You can use your library card in any public library in Connecticut.
