CHAMBER LUNCH MEETING

Everyone is invited to attend Chamber Meetings held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at noon at the Eagles Lodge on North Wynne Street. It is a no-host lunch with a speaker or program for each meeting. We try to publicize these meetings in advance so everyone can make plans to attend. If you would like to make a presentation of interest to the community or know of someone who has a project or information to get out to the public, call the Chamber office at (509) 684-5973 and we will schedule you for a Tuesday Luncheon. We do a 50/50 drawing at lunch, your 50 is distributed to a nonprofit. Remember to bring your dollars.

Colville Chamber of Commerce Roger McMillan Memorial OPEN Golf Tournament

Pat and her crew are always going to estate auctions out of town and they come back with all kinds of treasures! This last auction they picked up a nice collection of Frost knives, some with certificates of authenticity.

Bushnell scopes, a vintage Lane cedar chest, and much more. The best-found treasure is a fancy cloth covered box that’s velvet lined and filled with a dozen stone hand-carved miniature teapots in all different colors. It’s beautiful!

Stevens County Public Libraries

Dominion Divas

It was a great opening day for the Dominion Divas. We had rough weather, but rain stopped while they played, and we had 16 teams which was 32 players participating. We had 8 of the 16 teams win, along with 4 closest to the hole winners and 6 team skins winners. The ladies had a great silent auction fundraiser, and everyone had a great time.

We will have our weekly Dominion Divas starting Thursday, May 2. The Divas now have an 18-Hole Group with 11am tee times and a 9-Hole Group with 5:30pm tee times on Thursdays. To sign up, please stop by or call the Golf Shop at 509-684-5508. The deadline to sign-up each week is Wednesdays at noon.

The Department of Health is hosting a FREE vaccination event Thursday, May 2^nd at Stratton Elementary - 1201 West 5th Street Newport WA 99156.

ZADDY'S MAY EVENT CALENDAR:

On Saturday, May 4th, from 1 pm to 3 pm, Zaddy’s will be hosting a Family Paint Party. The kids can choose from painting a tea set, a pet rock, or a dinosaur. Or perhaps you would rather learn how to create a Fairy Garden.  It is up to you which event you would like to participate in. The cost is $35 per person, all supplies are furnished, and you will take your creation home to show off to friends and family.

Crochet Workshop: Are you interested in learning how to Crochet? We currently have several Workshops open for May. These are 5-Day Workshops, and the cost is $125 for the 5-day Workshop. Mother’s Day is Right Around the Corner: Lonna is hosting a Mother’s Day Tea on Sunday May 11th from 1 pm to 3 pm. The Cost is $35 per person. RSVP and Prepayment is required no Later than May 5th. What a Great way to Celebrate Mom! Zaddy’s Doll Club/Tea Party will meet on Saturday, May 18th from 10 am to Noon. The Cost is FREE; however, RSVP is required by the 15th of May in preparation for the Tea Party. This will be the last Doll Club Meeting until September due to Vacations.

The Cost is $20 for a small table and $30 for a large table, plus 5% of final sales. No license is required to sell, as ALL sales go through Zaddy’s register, where sales tax will be collected, and Vendors will be paid (minus 5% of sales) at the end of the day. If you are interested in selling on Vendor Day and have a unique item, please contact us. We are currently looking for someone who has tools (new or used that are in good condition) that they would like to sell. We also would welcome any handmade item made of metal or wood. On Vendor Day, customers can enjoy a 20% discount on most items in the store (excluding the vendor tables). All candies, teas, and coffees are 10% off. Our services include the WorkSource WA job board, where businesses can create an employer account, post jobs, and view resumes that match their job description. If businesses would like their open positions featured on our WorkSource Colville Facebook page, please let us know. We also offer assistance with On-the-Job-Training , where newly hired, qualified applicants could be eligible for 50 percent reimbursement of their wages to their new employer during the training period.
