ICE CRYSTALS IS BACK!
REGISTRATION DEADLINE has been EXTENDED
Our Annual Ice Show, “Skating through the Decades” will be held on May 7, 2022.
While the deadline has been extended, please do not wait! Stop into the Colonial office on December 28, 29 or 30, and we can help you with measurements or answer any questions you may have.
Here are a few answers that may help:
- If you are in Learn to Skate - you will be receiving a notice in class to sign up for Ice Crystals in January. There is nothing you need to do right now.
- If you are in Aspire Advanced Skills - you need to register to perform in Ice Crystals. Please use the link below.
- If you are on a Synchro Team, Aspire Synchro or Theatre on Ice, and ONLY plan to perform with your team, you do not need to register for Ice Crystals. Your team is already registered as a group.
- If you are on a Synchro Team, Aspire Synchro or Theatre on Ice, and ALSO want to participate in another group number, you DO need to register and pay the fee for that number.

LOCKERS FOR RENT & LOCKER ROOM CLEAN-UP
Once again, lockers are available to rent in the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms. The fee is $35 per year. To rent a locker, please log into your Entryeeze account and choose “Merchandise,” where you will be able to view the locker contract and pay the fee. If you have any questions, or would like a paper locker contract, please contact patty@colonialfsc.com
We will be thoroughly cleaning the locker rooms on Wednesday, December 29, starting at 11:00 a.m. We would love to have volunteers to help, so please stop by anytime between 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. You may sign up to volunteer by logging into Entryeeze and selecting Volunteer, or simply show up ready to work!
If you have a lock on a locker, please remove it and all contents of your locker before December 29, so we can clean and refresh the entire locker room. Everyone who has rented a locker will be able to "move back in" after January 1.

Select a tag from the Giving Tree in Rink 3 and donate gift cards as listed on the tags. Drop off gift cards in the Colonial office. COAT DRIVE
Please bring winter coats to the Colonial office. The ministry at Wesley United Methodist church serves people in need in Worcester and the surrounding communities, including homeless children, adults and families.
Thank you to those who have already given. Beth Duxbury was able to bring a large box of coats of all sizes to the church earlier this week. More are needed; please drop off coats by Wednesday, December 29.

OUR 50th YEAR
Colonial is turning 50! Our 50th Anniversary is in September 2022, so we will be celebrating throughout the year!
Please spread the word to any and all present and former members.
We will be having a Kickoff Celebration on January 15, with cupcakes, memories and activities. Then, throughout the year there will be other activities to share in the 50th Year celebration.
Finally, we will celebrate with a Gala in September 2022!

NEW Injury Prevention Program
We are very excited to partner with Sarah Sherman at Live4PT to offer this new program for all skaters. Sarah will meet 1-on-1 with skaters to perform a complete assessment, followed up with an individualized program for each skater.
Skaters and parents, talk to your coaches and sign up today to help prevent injuries while becoming stronger and improving your on-ice performance.
Sarah will be here at Colonial on the following dates:

January 17, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
January 26, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Assessments will take place in the Glass Room (studio adjacent to Rink 3)

LEARN TO SKATE
Learn to Skate is a joint program run by the Colonial Figure Skating Club and the Nashoba Skating School. All lessons are taught by Skating Professionals.
The FALL 2 Session begins November 3. Classes are held on Wednesday afternoons, and Saturday/Sunday mornings. Use this link, Learn to Skate, to learn more and to register.
DID YOU KNOW? ADULTS SKATE, TOO! Maybe you never thought about it before, and now is the time! Adults are welcome and encouraged to join Learn to Skate!

ASPIRE ADVANCED SKILLS
Colonial's Aspire Advanced Skills program is the next step after Learn to Skate classes. We still have space in the Winter session, Mondays 4:50 p.m., Thursdays 4:50 p.m. and Sundays 1:30 p.m.
NEW, Aspire Practice Ice
Aspire skaters are able to practice on the ice during Aspire classes. Practice Ice is available on half-ice during our Sunday and Monday Aspire Advanced Skills Classes:
Mondays 4:50-5:35
Sundays 1:10-1:55
What is it? Attend your lesson on one day, then practice on one or both of the other Aspire days.
How do I sign up? Just show up at any of the times listed, and pay in cash, check or Venmo @ColonialSkate
Other info? You can schedule a private lesson at this time too… talk to your coach about it!

JOIN ASPIRE SYNCHRO NOW!
Aspire Synchro is open to all skaters from Basic 5 through Pre-Juvenile Moves in the Field, this 10-week program will introduce skaters to the excitement of Synchro. Not only will skaters learn and perform a synchro program, they will have fun and make new friends at the same time!

TRY OUR INTRO TO THEATRE ON ICE PROGRAM!
Theatre on Ice is a team-structured program that combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theatre and dance!
“Broadway Blades Intro” is an introductory TOI experience for skaters from Basic 5 through Freeskate 6.
Thursdays 6:30-7:15 p.m. On Ice
The Intro Team will meet from January through June, including ice show performances and a great team experience!
Fee: $150 per month for 6 months

Shout out to our Open Juvenile Team for placing 1st competing against 10 other teams, and our Open Adult & Open Masters teams, who were competing together for the first time in nearly two years!!

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE 2022 COLONIAL CLASSIC
January 7-10, 2022 - Tsongas Center, Lowell, MA
We hope you will consider volunteering at the Colonial Classic 2022! Without our volunteers, we could not organize this great event.
- When you sign up for 8 consecutive volunteer-hours or more, you get 1 free ticket for the day of your choice.
- Parking Passes will be given to all volunteers
- If you sign up for a volunteer slot at 5am, 6am or a time slot past 10pm your volunteer hours will count double!
- Masks are required for all volunteers and everyone inside Tsongas at all times regardless of vaccination status.
- Proof of vaccination is required for all volunteers.
