Variegated Asiatic Jasmine
Trachelospermum asiaticum is one of our favorite groundcovers for quick coverage of large areas in the landscape and erosion control on slopes. Once established Asiatic jasmine is heat and drought tolerant and low-maintenance. The lush, evergreen foliage looks great year-round and is known to be left alone by deer! Asiatic jasmine grows well in sun, partial sun or shade so it's very versatile. We especially love the cream, green and bronzy-pink shades of variegated Asiatic jasmine (pictured here). This groundcover can be pruned back as needed to keep it in bounds.

Peperomia
These adorable members of the pepper family are native to Central and South America. A compact habit (6-12 inches tall & wide) and delicate root systems make them ideal for small containers and tight spaces (allow plant to become rootbound before repotting). Peperomia grow best in bright filtered light (an eastern or southern exposure is best; shield from direct sun) and moderate to high humidity (although they will tolerate low humidity environments). Protect from temps below 55 degrees. Since they are succulent in nature, well-drained soil is a must. Allow the soil to dry to the touch before watering. Peperomia are one of our favorite indoor plants because they are so easy to care for!
