College & Career Night

TOMORROW NIGHT

Sept 3, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Marshall Auditorium

Parents and students are invited to GCM’s Fall College Night. Most of the information will be for 11-12th graders, but all grades are welcome (there will be more sessions for grades 9-10 in the winter and spring).

The material will cover topics such as the college search and fit, the application pieces, NOVA and community college, how seniors can work with their counselors, and more (financial aid will be covered in an event later in the fall). The session material will be posted on our website after the event.

We’ll also have counselor breakout groups for senior students and parents so you can meet your student’s counselor and ask questions.

For questions, please contact Gardner Humphreys.

Statesmen Students Share Their Love of Music with Elementary Students

Select students from the Marshall Performing Arts programs visited our area feeder elementary schools last Friday, August 23 to perform music and promote the benefits of music programs in schools. Statesmen students answered questions about the various programs and had a fun time visiting former teachers at their respective schools.

George C. Marshall Band Program TAG DAY Fundraiser!

GCM is proud to have an amazing band program, led by Mr. Paul Vesilind, offering opportunities for high school band students to perform as part of the Marching Satesmen on the field at halftime during home football games and at marching competitions during the fall season—as well as on stage during concert season!

This year, the award-winning Marching Statesmen will wow the crowd with a field performance titled Anomaly! Marching band students spent the final three weeks of their summer break in August participating in all-day marching band rehearsals, preparing and polishing their spectacular show. You can watch performances by the Marching Statesmen on the field at halftime during all remaining varsity home football games, as well as at various marching competitions this fall.

Please save the date for TAG DAY, the Marshall Band’s Fall Fundraiser, on September 7. Band students will team up to canvass neighborhoods in the Marshall High School district in order to promote the band program, invite our neighbors to come and see a show/concert, and request donations on behalf of the band. If no one is home when the students knock on their door, then a “tag” is left on the door to explain the reason for the visit and to request a donation. Thank you in advance of your support for the GCM Band and its students during this fundraising effort--and throughout the year!

Donations to the Marshall Band program are gratefully accepted, and can be made via the website, check, cash, or using the Venmo QR code below.
