Learn About Israeli-Palestinian Conflict | The conflict in Israel and Palestine is complicated and leaves many of us broken-hearted and wondering what the answer could be for the followers of Christ. Bring a program to your church to learn about this conflict, through history and personal stories. The speakers for this program are Michael Barr, alternative dispute resolution analyst at the Supreme Court of Virginia, and Rev. Christopher Tweel, pastor and head of staff at Three Chopt Presbyterian Church. The program will include time for questions and resources for churches and individuals to continue the prayerful conversation over the devastating conflict in the Holy Land. To schedule a session for your congregation, email Rev. Tweel.
Survey Invite From PC(USA) | PC(USA) asks you to share a survey invitation with your community. The Changing Families in the PC(USA) survey was mandated by the 225th General Assembly (2022) and is open to all who are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The survey asks questions about marriage and romantic relationships, family structures, and expressions of gender identity. PC(USA) wants to learn more about the people who make up the PC(USA) and how they can meet the needs of those people. The survey will close December 1.
Staff Connect in Day Retreat | On October 31, presbytery staff met at Roslyn Retreat Center for a day to connect and learn about new topics. Following worship and team building exercises, the group discussed The Three Laws of Performance, a self-help book designed to guide businesses, organizations, and individuals in transforming themselves and achieving new results. Next, each person shared his or her results from the Core Value Index, a psychometric assessment of four innate human energies that drive performance, and we learned how these energies can be used to benefit our work at the presbytery. We closed the day with a worship of remembrance for All Saints Eve.
