Advent Reflection Series Begins Sunday

Join us this Advent as we explore what it’s like to wait! We will be offering a collection of daily questions and reflections inviting us to consider what we experience and learn in our waiting, and how we find God - and God finds us - in our waiting.

Each Sunday a brief video will be shared on Facebook and Instagram to introduce us to a focus and reflection for the week. Each day a question will be posted for us to ponder. You are invited to share your own reflections by replying to these posts or reposting on your personal social media. Please follow and use #diocgcwaits. Be sure to follow our diocesan social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.

You do not need a Facebook or Instagram account to follow along on those platforms but if you prefer to receive the reflections and questions via e-mail, please sign up using this link. E-mails containing the video and daily questions and reflections will be sent out on the Sundays of Advent.

We can’t WAIT to have you join us this Advent!

Around the Diocese

Share your photo, good news or ministry with the rest of the diocese. Send your story to us here.

One of Bishop Russell's favorite things to do at the end of a service is to have a child carry his crozier. Felix from All Saints, Mobile, did a mighty fine job!

Join us in congratulating the Rev. Kenneth White-Spunner who was ordained a priest on November 13. Father Ken will serve St. John's, Monroeville.

Diocesan Events

Becoming Beloved Community - Sacred Conversations

Saturday, December 3, 7:30am to 4:30pm CT

Church of the Redeemer, 7125 Hitt Rd, Mobile

Presented by the Commission on Racial Justice & Reconciliation. We explore unconscious bias, prejudice, white privilege and ways to work together to Become the Beloved Community. This offering is required for those in parish leadership (such as vestry members) and at the diocesan level (including those serving on commissions, committees, agencies, or boards). It also qualifies for eight hours of clergy training/education for those who complete the full-day course.

There is no fee to participate, but it requires the commitment to be engaged for the full day.

Limited to 30 participants. Because many people will be in the same room for an extended period, COVID vaccinations are required, and pre-admittance temp check and short questionnaire will be taken at check-in.

Please refer questions, by November 26, to:

Joe McDaniel, Jr. 415-225-9066 or mcdanieljoe43@yahoo.com
