In an ongoing effort to brand our great college, we are offering free CoLA window clings to anyone interested! They were provided by a donor and are a wonderful way to show our CoLA pride. Throughout the semester I will be visiting student parking lots, leaving a card redeemable for small prizes for students who proudly display their CoLA window cling on their car. I've already given away banana bread and gift cards, and there are definitely brownies in the future! Stop by the Dean's Office for your own window cling during open office hours and spread the word to your students.

CELIA's capstone event to the Modern: Reimagining the New series is coming up on September 28. Complexions Contemporary Ballet,
often called "America's original multicultural dance company," will perform at the Victoria Theatre downtown for a one-night-only area premiere featuring Star Dust, a tribute to David Bowie. A creation of Dayton native, choreographer, and Complexions' artistic director, Dwight Rhoden, this original work was described by the Washington Post critic as"...one of the most exciting performances I've seen on the dance series," after its Kennedy Center performance earlier this year. For more information, to purchase tickets, or to view videos of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, visit the CELIA website
. As part of CELIA's Modern project dancers from Complexions will provide master classes for dance students as well as the public performance.
This fall we celebrate Wright State's 50th anniversary. Hopefully you have seen some of the Newsroom articles highlighting what life was like on our campus over the last 5 decades (in the
60's; 70's; 80's; 90's; 00's
). We will celebrate this 50th year milestone at Homecoming Weekend
on September 29 - October 1. I hope to see many of you enjoying the activities at Homecoming.
