| |
The Harry T. Wilks Leadership Institute, in partnership with the Miami Women's Center and the Division of Student Affairs, is pleased to host Susan Davis-Ali in the Lessons in Leadership speaker series on February 21st in the Ogden Hall Living Room from 3:30-5:00 PM. Dr. Davis-Ali graduated from Miami in 1986 and also earned a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1992. She spent over a decade as a highly respected corporate executive and then founded Leadhership1, a coaching company committed to helping working women achieve greater success and sanity in their lives. In 2009, she published the book "How to Become Successful Without Becoming a Man" and recently began a weekly column in USA Today. Her talk, entitled "The GPS isn't always right; Recalculating your own detours in life" will examine the idea that navigating through life and career success is not as linear as we might think and that career changes are common and sometimes necessary. Please join us for an intimate dialogue in a living room setting that is certain to spark thoughts about your own future and the path you expect to travel.

Kaplan's Free Practice Test Event is Back!
|
Kaplan is holding a FREE Practice Test for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, DAT, OAT, or PCAT. Wouldn't you rather take the test from home, the library, a coffee shop, or even an open computer lab on campus? Then take your practice test live and online in our Classroom Anywhere environment, available from anywhere you have internet access. As space is limited, this event does require pre-registration. However, a number of seats have been reserved for Miami students. To register for this free event, fill out the following web form: https://bit.ly//MiamiUPracticeTest. Once registered, you will receive unique log-in information that you will use to enter Kaplan's virtual classroom and begin the exam. Each test will last up to 4 hours and will be proctored like an actual exam. Immediately following the exam, you will be able to receive your score report, with full comprehensive feedback on your individual performance, on a web-enabled mobile device (smartphone or tablet). One of our expert instructors will provide a short overview on how to interpret your score report, followed by a short workshop on test-taking strategies. Kaplan staff will be available throughout the day to answer any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity for you to see how you might score on the real thing, and also to become familiar with the kinds of questions that will be on the real test. For most students, this exam will be a more realistic test-taking experience as you can practice in the format that mirrors most graduate school exams.
For additional information, visit us at www.kaptest.com/practice or call one of Kaplan's test experts at 1-800-KAP-TEST. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in going to business, grad, law, med, dental, optometry, or pharmacy school in the next few years!
