Community Impact

ICYMI: Help is Help Health Fair

On August 5th, our dedicated Client Advisory Board members came together to volunteer their time and energy at the "Help is Help" Health Fair. This event was not just about health; it was about fostering a supportive environment where our community members could access vital resources, gain knowledge, and connect with one another.

As a Client Advisory Board, our primary focus is on housing mobility and advocacy. However, we believe that our role goes beyond housing alone. By collaborating with other organizations and community members, we showcased the power of unity and collective action.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the founder of Help is Help and our very own Client Advisory Board member, Brittany Jones, for all of her hard work organizing the Health Fair. We also want to thank Client Advisory Board members, Ella Miller and Chanttani Schrock, for their commitment to serving the community. Your presence and support were instrumental in creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere.

Do you know someone who may be interested in becoming a Client Advisory Board volunteer?

The Client Advisory Group consists of current and previous voucher holders, volunteers assist ICP in realizing its vision by advocating and promoting policies and practices that are consistent with our mission of inclusiveness, fairness, community, and opportunity.

Volunteers speak up for fair housing by advocating for inclusive communities with local, state and national policymakers. They also participate in ICP's leadership training sessions called Voices for Opportunity (VFO). The trainings help to strengthen their self-advocacy skills. Overall, volunteers help to influence housing programs and policies while also nurturing fellowship and community among people with similar experiences.
