CBSA CARM Deadline Approaching
This is a friendly reminder regarding the upcoming implementation of the Canada Border Services Agency's (CBSA) Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) system.
What is CARM?
CARM is a new digital initiative that will change how the CBSA assesses and collects duties and taxes on commercial goods imported into Canada.
Important Dates:
  • May 13, 2024: CARM will become the official system of record for importers and other trade chain partners to pay duties and taxes.
  • April 26 to May 13, 2024: Data migration period ("cutover period"). The CARM Client Portal (CCP) will not be available during this time.
What You Need to Do:
  • Register in the CARM portal: It is mandatory for all importers, including non-residents, to register in the CARM portal before May 13th.
  • Delegate your Customs Broker: After registering, you will need to delegate your authority to [Your Company Name] in the CARM portal so we can continue to facilitate your customs transactions. Important note: As of May 13th, Customs Brokers will no longer be able to pay duties and taxes on your behalf. You will be responsible for making these payments directly through the CARM portal.
How to Get Started:
For more information on CARM, including how to register and delegate your Customs Broker, please visit the CBSA website:
