Extend the Life of Your Furniture
Your furniture is a major investment for your home or your business. Like any possession you have spent a great deal of money on, you want to keep it looking nice and new for as long as possible. No matter how many rules you try to put in place on banning food or dirty feet from your precious upholstery, accidents happen. Instead of running to the store for another piece of furniture that will inevitably get a stain as well, try cleaning to get your furniture back to new and protecting it against future accidents.
- When a spilling or spoiling happens, the safest thing to do is blot with a dry towel, rinse with water, blot again, repeat. Also, in the case of upholstery, it's safest to mist water on the stain with a spray bottle, so that it doesn't run everywhere if you pour it on the fabric. This is also the best practice with pet urine, and you should act fast.
- Be careful when attempting to wash removable fabric, like on cushions. They may sometimes shrink and not fit back on the cushion or pillow. Also, if you wash white or light colored fabric, even when they don't shrink, they can look dramatically cleaner and brighter than the rest of the fabric on the body of the furniture, which is not always desirable.
- If your problem area didn't happen today, but it's a stain from months ago, or your furniture is just looking a little dingy a professional cleaning could achieve that brand new look that your elbow grease cannot. Bishop Clean Care uses a hot-water extraction cleaning method to remove dirt and stains that is not possible with typical cleaning.
- After cleaning you'll want to protect the upholstery with a Scotchgard® treatment to repel future accidents. It will give you some peace of mind when spills or dirty shoes end up on your newly cleaned furniture.
