Coming to Class at TYSOD

We are so excited to see your dancer in class! The information below explains everything you need to know about your dancer’s time with us at our studio. Our policies and procedures help keep all dancers safe and on time once they arrive at the studio.

DROPPING OFF | PARKING | PICKING UP

Our parking lot is a busy place! To keep all dancers and their family members safe, we ask that you do the following:

All dancers coming to class should enter through the Main Lobby entrance. Students should not arrive more than 15 minutes before the start of their first class.
If your dancer needs assistance getting out of the car or you are new to the studio, please park and walk your child to the Main Lobby entrance.
Returning students, please feel free to drop off at our quick and easy pull-through at the Main Lobby entrance.
During our first few weeks, faculty/staff will greet all arriving dancers to make sure they know where to go for class and how to get there.
When picking up, meet your dancer at the Houze Way side door. Please allow time to find a parking spot so you can walk up. We do not allow dancers to walk across the parking lot to a parent’s waiting car.
Please be prompt when picking up your dancer after class. If you get delayed and will be late for pickup, please contact the front desk at 770-998-0259.

Getting to Class

See our 2024-25 Class Schedule At-A-Glance to review the schedules and see what’s happening in each studio every day (including class name, teacher, and time).

Please review the Studio Map with your dancer. Our building is a big place, but dancers learn their way around after coming to a few classes. AND, we always have helpful faculty and staff looking out to make sure everyone gets where they’re going!

HELP US GET TO KNOW YOUR DANCER

Students will receive a name tag lanyard as they arrive for their first dance class next week. The name tag shows their dance schedule - this will help our staff learn who your dancer is and assist them getting to the correct studio. We request that students wear their lanyard to ALL classes through the month of September.

Inside Our Studio

For the security of our dancers, traffic through our studio lobby is kept to a minimum. We do not allow parents, siblings, or guests beyond the main lobby on regular class days.

Coming in to speak to the front desk staff in person or use our lobby restroom is perfectly fine. Our front desk staff is always ready to answer your questions or share materials with you to help clarify any issues.

Dress Code

We believe it is important for our students to dress appropriately for every class they attend. Each type of class we offer has guidelines for the proper clothes and shoes dancers need to wear. Check the DRESS CODE guidelines for your dancer's class(es).

REQUIRED: All students need to wear easy off/on cover-ups and street shoes when arriving and leaving TYSOD.

WHERE TO SHOP FOR DANCEWEAR

TYSOD/RDT partners with Dance Fashions in Roswell to supply what our dancers need. Dance Fashions has our complete dress code on file, so they can assist you with the right clothing and shoes for class. Dance shoes made by a recognized dancewear manufacturer provide lasting quality, and a fitting in a dancewear store ensures a safe fit.

Please watch your inbox for our weekly news blast each Monday morning. It is filled with important info for dancers and parents! This is how we keep you up-to-date with details about what's happening at the studio!

ATTENDANCE

If you know ahead of time that your student is going to be absent from class, please let the teacher know. If your student is sick or has too much homework on dance class day, we appreciate a call to the front desk at 770-998-0259 or email at frontdesk@tysod.com to let us know they will be out.
