ClassE is where we grow entrepreneurs and nurture success. Read about what we have been learning.

Spirit Sippers can be purchased at home football games or emailing at keepitclasse@gmail.com.
We don't have class on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week, but will be selling the sippers at the Mattoon Business Expo at the Coles County Mall on Thursday.

Location: Lifespan Center (unless noted below), 11021 E. Cty. Rd. 800 N. Charleston (Loxa Rd just northeast of SBLHS).  Class is open and everyone is welcome.
Coles County Clash

Although more Mattoon sippers were sold, the night was a win for all. ClassE sold 80 sippers that night and received about 13 pre-orders. The rivalry really did help sell at least 10 sippers, because Mattoon folks did not want to have Charleston win.

Check out the videos the students made to promote the spirit sippers on our ClassE Facebook page. Both videos received over 1,200 views.

Powersports HQ Tour

Jim Short started Powersports HG just three years ago and discussed some of the expensive surprises that arose to get the building up to code. Jim ran the Short Furniture business for years, then managed some marinas before choosing this business. He feels the hardest part of running a business is getting good staff. We also learned about lines or credit and floor plans.
Learning Technology to Plan and Promote our Business

We took two workdays to learn about tools that will help us run the business. First, we made sure all students were signed in and knew how to use Dropbox. All students now have access to the ClassE logo, schedules, and pics to complete their social media projects on Monday. Next, we sat at the computers and learned to use Excel and find templates students can use in their class business roles.

Tour of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce

Ed Dowd, is the executive director of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce. He explained that the chamber's mission to promote and support businesses in the region. We then discussed the Mattoon Business Expo and how to effectively sell at a trade show. We discussed ideas to attract more people to the booth and we role-played the selling process.

Then the students finalized details for the upcoming CHS Homecoming game and the business expo.

We are so thankful for the generosity of the Coles County businesses that sponsor ClassE. We hope you support them as they support us!
