ClassE is where we grow entrepreneurs and nurture success. This is what we have been learning this week.

We have been focusing on the last minute details of the golf outing, but we did take time out to learn about historical entrepreneurs while watching the PBS Series "The Men Who Built America" and tour First Fruits Homestead. Mentors continue to visit class and mentors will be assigned in November.

Invite a ClassE Student to the Community Update Breakfast, November 2nd
We would like to have the class attend the Community Update Breakfast. If you are purchasing a table and have some extra seats, we would love for you to consider filling those empty spots with a ClassE student or two. Handling the Final Touches

Students continued to make calls, write emails, order of signs, establish the guaranteed numbers for the golfers and people who will be joining us for lunch. 



Visiting with Potential Mentors

Carl Walworth, Debbie Deters, Alex Hagen, Laura Sullivan, Kyle Gill and Joyce Madigan all visited class this week to share a little bit about themselves with the students. Mentors will help the students when they develop their individual business idea.

Tour of First Fruits Homestead 

We made a trip south of Charleston to visit with Lauren Calandrilla  from First Fruits Homestead. She and her partner had little experience in farming, but were called to start this 4-acre vegetable garden and 15-acre farm which sells at local farmer's markets and to member of their CSA (community supported agriculture) endeavor.

They have learned with each season how to change their policies and what sells. They now reach out to the surrounding communities by having: special events, educational tours for students and teachers and providing food to local food banks.
