Kristin Doty was the brave student who first presented her business idea to the class and requested money for her dog biscuit business.
Dr. Jacob Pschirrer of Pschirrer Family Dentistry spoke to the class and gave them the following tips: 1. work hard in college, 2. save your money as early as possible, and 3. follow the golden rule when in business and you will be successful.
Bob Haugenz, manager of the Farmer Grain Company of Dorans, discussed how a coop works and why farmers came together in 1906 to leverage their joint volume while marketing their commodity. They ship grain just down the road to Mars for pet food and around the world by train and barge.
This was a cold but mighty tour. Tim Pearson, Kaitlyn's dad, also discussed the safety regulations they follow for OSHA and EPA.
