Class of 2023 Graduation Reminders

Dear Class of 2023 Graduates and Families,

The following information is important for graduation on May 26 at 8:00pm at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis (1 Cannon Baller Way, Kannapolis, NC). The rain date is May 30 at 8:00pm. Please read this communication carefully and thoroughly. If you have questions, see below for a list of contacts.

Graduation Tickets

Each graduate will receive 8 general admission tickets.
The graduate does not need a ticket.
Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket as long as they are sitting in someone’s lap.
If you purchased additional tickets, they will be in the envelope provided to your student at the end of graduation practice.
Tickets will be given to the graduate at the end of rehearsal on May 26 (9:00am-12:00/12:30pm) as long as:
All of the following items are returned: computers, charging cords, parking pass, books and athletic uniforms (unless your sport is still in season).
All of the student's financial obligations (fees from broken computers or damaged books) are paid in full.
Graduates have turned in all required Service Hours. They need a total of 20 hours (for all 4 years) by May 19. Your student's counselor should contact you by May 9 if this is an issue. This is a requirement to walk at graduation.
Graduates have completed the Leadership in Action program. If your student has not completed this requirement, you will be contacted by your student's counselor by May 8. This is a requirement to walk at graduation.
If you need more than 8 tickets, please purchase the additional seats for $20 each before May 7 using THIS PayPal link. After May 7, tickets can be ordered in the front office for $25 each, payable by check made out to LNC or cash.
Lake Norman Charter will not be responsible for any sharing or trading of tickets.

Accessible Seating

The ballpark has accessible seating, which will be assigned as closely as possible to family members. If your family will require accessible seating, please complete this Google form no later than May 7. Late submissions will not be accepted and no special arrangements can be made for seating after this date. If your party is able to use a wheelchair provided at the entrance to enter the park and navigate down one to two steps to the stadium, you do not need this seating. This seating is for guests arriving in wheelchairs or motorized carts who are unable to navigate one to two steps to stadium seating or transfer from the wheelchair to the seating.
If someone in your party has mobility issues, we recommend that you drop them off at the gate prior to parking. All guests will enter through Gate 1 unless they are arriving in a wheelchair. People arriving in a wheelchair should enter through Gate 2 with their tickets.

Graduate Dress Code for Graduation:

Option 1
Wear an appropriate dress, dress pants with a blouse, or a skirt with a blouse.
Shoes should not hinder walking on a baseball field. PLEASE REFRAIN from wearing high heels. Wedges, flat sandals or sneakers are best as you will be walking on a baseball field; BRING TO REHEARSAL THE SHOES THAT YOU PLAN TO WEAR TO GRADUATION.
Option 2
Wear a white collared, button-up shirt.
Wear dress pants and shoes.
CORDS: Only honors cords, the NHS stole or the Student Class Council stole will be permitted as accessories with your gown at graduation. No other sashes or cords from other programs will be permitted at graduation.
HATS: You CAN decorate the top of your hat.

Graduation Practice

GRADUATION PRACTICE IS MANDATORY. SENIORS WHO ARE NOT PRESENT AND ON TIME WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY.
When and Where is Practice?
Graduation practice will be held on Friday, May 26. Graduates should meet at the ballpark GATE 2 to start practice at 9:00am sharp. Practice is anticipated to end at approximately 12:00/12:30pm.
Students are responsible for transporting themselves to and from the Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis (1 Cannon Baller Way, Kannapolis, NC).
Here is a map of parking locations. We encourage parking behind Gate 3 in the grass lot.
Bring sunsceen and dress for the weather. The sun will be high during practice.

Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony is Friday, May 26 at 8:00pm at the Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis. The rain date is May 30 at 8:00pm.
Graduation will be live-streamed via a YouTube link which will be sent out prior to graduation.
Graduates are expected to meet outside Gate 2 on West Avenue by 7:00pm.
Guests enter through Gate 1, located on Cannon Baller Way and West Avenue. Doors open at 7:00pm and seats are general admission.
You must have a valid ticket to enter the ceremony. The formal announcement is not considered a ticket for admission and tickets will be scanned at the door.
Concessions are available before and during graduation. This is a cash-free venue, and all payments need to be credit, debit, Apple Pay or GooglePay. Here are links to the Concessions Menu and a Snack and Drink Menu.
Absolutely NO COOLERS, NO BALLOONS and NO NOISE MAKERS ALLOWED.
No signs bigger than a poster board size (22 inches x 28 inches).

Graduation Pictures

St. John Photography will be at graduation to take pictures of your graduate as they accept their diploma.
Information on ordering will follow graduation and additional merchandise will be available online.
