Student Equity & Achievement Program (SEAP) 2022-23 Funding Now Available
The Student Equity and Achievement Program was established in Education Code (EC) 78222 with the intent of supporting the system-wide goal of eliminating achievement gaps through the lens of equity. The office of the Associate Vice President of Student Services is seeking to fund innovative programs and activities focused on closing the achievement gaps of SCC’s disproportionately impacted (DI) student groups. In review of SCC’s student success data, Black/African American students have significantly lower achievement rates when compared to their counterparts. SCC has centered the needs of Black/African American students and prioritized closing their achievement gaps. To learn more about SCC student achievement visit SCC’s Data Dashboards.
This funding opportunity is available for individuals and groups. Funding is allocated on a year
to year basis. Applications will be evaluated based on their alignment with SCC’s equity goals
(see below) and their ability to demonstrate strategies designed to support our DI populations.
Equity Goals:
- Providing equity minded enrollment and retention efforts
- Improving course success rates
- Improving math completion rates.
If you're interested in responding to this call, please submit an application by May 27, 2022.
The office of the Associate Vice President of Student Service will notify applicants in June or
July of their funding status. Funding request responses will be sent to the email address included in the application. Those applicants who secure funding will be required to attend a SEAP expedature workshop in August.
If you have questions about the application or process please contact Dr. John Dixon, AVPESS.

Staff Parking Update for Summer/Fall
Summer 2022
Permits will not be issued for the summer session, but additional parking in F lot will become available with the completion of Lillard (estimated to be done in July) and we will also post signage at the entrance to all staff lots indicating they are for staff parking only.
Fall 2022
We will begin issuing staff parking permits again in Fall 2022 to allow for patrolling and ticketing of anyone found to be parking in the staff lot without an appropriate permit. Communication will be sent when staff parking permits are available for pick up at the LRPD front desk.
We will not be issuing permits to students and parking will remain free for students through the Spring 2023 semester.

Textbook Buy-Back
At the end of each term (or whenever students no longer need the book), the college bookstore will buy back textbooks based on the book’s current market value and if the book is scheduled to be used by an instructor next term.
Students can sell back your books in one of two ways:
-
Online via the bookstore's partner website, ValoreBooks; or
-
In-person at the Bookstore – view store hours and sell-back FAQs
Return Textbook Rentals
If students rented textbooks this semester from the bookstore, they are due to be returned by Wednesday, May 19. Students can return your books in one of two ways:
-
In-person at the Bookstore – view store hours
- Ship rentals to the store, using the shipping carrier of the student’s choice. Note: Shipping is at student expense.
- Students should sign in to their bookstore account using the same email address they provided at the register in-store or entered when they rented online. Note: If students don’t know their password, that’s OK – just click “Forgot Password” to reset.
- Once they’ve signed in, students will be navigated to the Rentals page to view their Rental Account Information and Rental History.
- Click “Return all Rentals by Mail” and follow the steps to print the packing slip.
- Print the packing slip and include it with the rental shipment. The packing slip is crucial to include in the box – it identifies the student, what they’re returning, and where to send the rentals.
For questions, contact the SCC Bookstore at sccbookstore@losrios.edu or 916-558-2421.
