The 2024 Great Miami Riverway Fishing Challenge is on! Now through July 15th, register, find your favorite fishing spot, and win! Get information and register here.


Learn about the varied species of fish within the "157 miles of fishable Great Miami River", as well access fishing tips, links to regional outfitters, an interactive map of public access points, the Miami Valley Fly Fishers, the Ohio Department of Natural Resource (ODNR), and more here. Alloy Development/Pat Landi Access Fund

Applications for Alloy Development's Pat Landi Access Fund will be accepted until August 31st. The Fund was established through the merger of Alloy Business Finance and HCDC. According to Alloy's website, Alloy aims "...to assist organizations, communities, or governments in Butler and Warren County that are fostering small businesses or economic development projects." Examples of eligible activities include:

  • "Direct Loan Programs such as SBA Microloan Program & 7(a) Community Advantage Loan Program
  • Small Business Incubators, Small Business Development Centers, Veterans Business, Outreach Centers, Womens Business Centers, Minority Business Centers, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, and / or other like activities.
  • Contributions to other local nonprofits that provide grants and/or entrepreneurial training to small businesses or scholarships to students for participation in such entrepreneurial training programs
  • Workforce development and job training programs
  • Revolving Loan Funds as matching funds for a federal, state or local program
  • Financing economic impact studies to enable or document local economic development effort"

JobsOhio Small Business Grant

According to economic development partner REDI Cincinnati's website, to be eligible for a JobsOhio Small Business Grant, a company must have been in operation for at least a year and have $100,000 in annual revenues. The company must be engaged in JobsOhio’s targeted industries and business functions: Advanced Manufacturing; Additive Manufacturing; Aerospace & Aviation; Automotive; Autonomous Mobility; Energy & Chemicals; Financial Services; Insurtech; Food & Agribusiness; Healthcare & Biomedical; Gene Therapy; Logistics & Distribution; Military & Federal; Technology; and Cybersecurity.


The company should also meet at least one of the following:

  • "The company is owned by an underrepresented population, including:
  • Minority-owned (African American, Hispanic, Asian-Pacific and Native American)
  • Women-owned
  • Veteran-owned
  • Owned by an individual with a disability
  • The business must either be certified by a recognized state or national organization or otherwise able to verify that at least 51% of the business is owned, managed, and controlled by the underrepresented population.
  • The business is located in a qualified distressed community as defined by an index score of 50 or greater by the Economic Innovation Group."

SBDC at Miami Regionals

The Ohio Small Business Development Center at Miami University Regionals (SBDC), offers free services ranging from "Business Counseling and Advice", "Training", and "Planning for Access to Capital". Like the Latina Entrepreneur Academy that starts in August.
