February 2023

Message from Mayor Pribonic

Dear Residents,

Happy Winter! Here we are in the month of February already!! As we continue to plow our way through this winter, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for our service department workers. Our service crews have gone the distance, above and beyond, to serve our community. We appreciate your patience as this work is performed. I ask that we all drive cautiously with the ice and snow we have been experiencing. And don't forget to check on your neighbors and help where you are able.

As we move further into winter, I am sure you have noticed that our daylight time is getting longer but I remain concerned about our residents and their well-being. I encourage you to take advantage of the few more minutes of daylight, bundle up, and get outside if possible.

Don’t forget to check out our events and programs. We have a wonderful array of activities being planned throughout the year! https://www.stowohio.org/337/Programs-Events

There are also great sponsorship opportunities available to support our events! Keep reading for more information.

Great things are happening in our City! We have so much to be proud of and so much to look forward to. Afterall, we are tradition centered, and future focused. As always, I pledge to continue my accessibility to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input and feedback are so very beneficial in understanding the concerns of our community. I have the best interest of Stow at heart and I hope you do as well.

Sincerely,

John Pribonic

Mayor, City of Stow

What You Need To Know About Parking Bans

Parking bans prohibit motorists from parking cars in the street.

Whenever the City has a snow event of a depth of two inches or more, the mayor may declare that an emergency exists and that the snowfall constitutes a serious public hazard impairing transportation, fire, health and public protection and other vital facilities of the City. And in order for snowplowing operations to be completed, a parking ban is issued to prohibit motorists from parking cars on City side streets, so that the streets are unobstructed for essential functions, such as snow plowing and emergency services. During the period of the emergency, law dictates that no person shall park or leave unattended any vehicle of any kind upon the streets.

The City of Stow thanks you in advance for your adherence to this law.
