Essential City Workers Get the Job Done
An inside look at how your City workers are making sure essential services are operating while the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order is in place. Rest assured, curbside garbage collection and water services will continue to be provided during this health emergency. We are grateful for the support our City customers have for the work our team does and the friendly smiles along the way!
Public Recommended to Wear Face Masks

CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.  Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure. Learn how to make one yourself here.
Driver License Renewal Deadline Extended

As of April 1, 2020, Washington State DOL Driver License Offices are closed. To assist customers who cannot renew their driver license or ID card using online service, the Department of Licensing will be extending the expiration of driver licenses and ID cards.

For personal driver licenses or identification cards expiring from March 1, 2020, through June 30, 2020, the expiration dates are extended 90 days from the birthdate. Commercial driver licenses expiring from March 1, 2020, through June 23, 2020, are extended to June 20, 2020. For details visit the DOL website .

On the Bright Side

An update from the MLK Center at East Central:

"Things are going well on MLK’s end. We are a little exhausted from all the cleaning each day. The kids have learned a new term “social distancing” and all we hear now is “You are too close to me.”

Thank you for being a safe place for families and keep up the good work!
