City of Rosenberg Boards, Commissions, Committees and Task Force Positions Open

Calling all volunteers! Here’s your chance to make a difference in #Rtown! The city of Rosenberg is seeking applications for citizens eager to contribute to various boards, commissions, committees and task forces. These volunteer roles play a crucial part in city governance, offering invaluable perspectives and guidance on a range of municipal matters and activities.


Positions currently open include:

  • Building and Standards Board (5 positions)
  • Must include one active building contractor, one licensed master electrician, one licensed master plumber, a licensed mechanical contractor, and one representative from the city at large.
  • Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Evaluation Committee (4 positions)
  • Must be a resident of the city or owner of a business located in the city
  • Image Committee (7 positions)
  • Must be a resident of the city or owner of property or a business located in the city
  • Parks and Recreation Board (7-13 positions)
  • Must be a resident of the city or owner of property or a business located in the city
  • Planning Commission (7 positions)
  • Must be a resident of the city but may not serve on any other board, committee, commission or task force other than a temporary special task force or temporary committee
  • Rosenberg Development Corporation (RDC) Board (2 positions)
  • Must be a resident of the City
  • Water/Wastewater Impact Fee Advisory Task Force (1 position)
  • ETJ Citizen Rep (must reside in the ETJ and not corporate city limits)

           

Citizens interested in serving in the positions may submit the application online here, can fill out the application here, and submit to City Secretary Danyel Swint at dswint@rosenbergtx.gov or deliver in person or via mail to City Secretary, 2110 4th Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471. All applications must be received by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024. City Council members will review the applications and may make position appointments at a City Council meeting in July.


Serving on a city board, committee, commission, or task force is both an honor and a duty, often requiring a substantial time commitment. Prospective volunteers must undergo a background check prior to appointment. Once appointed, individuals are expected to attend meetings as scheduled and actively engage in the responsibilities of their role.
