"We encourage the community and media to join us in celebrating National Public Works Week," said City Manager Marcela Piedra. "It is an excellent opportunity for our community to have fun and get to know the hardworking individuals in our Public Works Department who keep our city running smoothly."

The City of Rohnert Park invites members of the media and the public to attend this special event and learn more about the essential role of public works in the community, and celebrate the dedication and hard work of those who ensure the functionality and vitality of our city.

The 2024 National Public Works Week theme, "Advancing Quality of Life for All," underscores the pivotal role of public works professionals in elevating our quality of life, whether through responding to emergencies like electricity outages, maintaining regular waste pickup schedules, or providing a variety of other vital services. Public works professionals contribute to advancing our quality of life by overseeing critical infrastructure services in transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, public projects, parks and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste, and right-of-way management. Their efforts are instrumental in making our communities vibrant places to live and work.
