Johns Creek business owners can begin to renew business occupation tax certificates for the 2024 calendar year.
You can renew your business tax application online using the the City's Customer Self-Service (CSS) portal. The 2024 Business Tax renewals will not be mailed this year.

Mayor John Bradberry and the City of Johns Creek invite elementary, middle, and high school students in the city to join in showing us your art creations. Participants submit 2D art pieces that can be paintings, drawings, multimedia, photography, or digital illustrations.

City offers additional location for glass recycling | |
|
Residents can bring their glass to be recycled at 6460 East Johns Crossing, Johns Creek, GA 30097. The container is located in a gravel lot off East Johns Crossing between Medlock Bridge Road and Johns Creek Parkway. This is the second glass recycling location in the City. Residents can also recycle glass by dropping it off at Ocee Park (10900 Buice Road).

Free Outdoor Fitness classes return to Newtown Park this month! The popular series is expanding and classes will also be held at Cauley Creek Park.
Classes include yoga, bar-less barre, Fitness 108, jazzercise, and Zumba.
The Free Outdoor Fitness classes are one way the City offers ways to incorporate a healthy lifestyle as Johns Creek continues to enhance its position as a leader in health, wellness, and innovation.

Construction Project Progress | |

Construction Project Progress: Crews continue work on important improvements in the city.

Old Alabama Road Trail & Bike Lane: Crews have completed the installation of the trail from Spruill Road to Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. Crews completed paving the roadway and are working on final grading and landscaping. The pedestrian island and last remaining section of the trail (ADA ramp) at Spruill Road are expected to be completed this month.

Jones Bridge Road widening (Waters Road to State Bridge Road): Retaining walls are currently under construction and utilities continue to be relocated throughout the project area. Additional storm drain lines will be installed and curb, gutter, and sections of sidewalk will continue to be poured along the project route in the coming weeks.

Pickleball courts at Newtown Park: Pickleball players have additional courts to use as the City of Johns Creek has renovated and expanded the pickleball courts at Newtown Park. The project included resurfacing the courts, which have been reconfigured to allow two additional pickleball courts within the same footprint for a total of six pickleball courts at Newtown Park.

Medlock Bridge Road Intersection Improvements with Bell Road, Abbotts Bridge Road, and Skyway Drive: New curb has been installed along Medlock Bridge Road and crews are finalizing the storm drain pipe installation along northbound Medlock Bridge Road near Skyway Drive. They are working on the next section of pipe installation on the southbound Medlock Bridge Road near Johns Creek Commons / Bell Road. Additional widening and concrete work will begin for the reconfiguration of the northwest corner of Abbotts Bridge Road (near Bank of America) and Medlock Bridge Road. In the next few weeks, traffic signal reconfiguration will begin for the intersections of Medlock Bridge with Skyway Drive, Abbotts Bridge Road, and Bell Road.

During its January meetings, the Johns Creek City Council:

Approved an ordinance to allow for limited commercial use permits in parks and park facilities and amended the fee schedule

Amended the Police Department position allocation chart to temporarily increase the number of positions due to military deployments
- Recognized Georgia Arbor Day and the City's Tree City USA designation
- Recognized the Lunar New Year event volunteers
- Appointed members to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee, and Construction Board of Appeals

Approved a resolution acquiring parcels one, 11 and 12 for the Jones Bridge Road at Sargent and Douglas Roads intersection project

Deferred the discussion of the Revitalization Plan for the intersection of State Bridge and Medlock Bridge roads to the April 2024 City Council Meeting
